For many of us, Futurama is just one of those things we've loved since its creation in 1999. But for some unfathomable reason, not everyone feels the same way. And we just can't understand why everyone on the planet doesn't love it as much as we do.

If you're like me, you've probably tried in your own way to convert the ignorant masses. Perhaps you've succeeded. This thread is for your success stories. Tell us how you managed to make Futurama fans of your friends and/or family!

SOMEHOW got some kid at school called Sam obsessed with the Time Code.

Just comes up to me like '01010110101010111001011101010 100!' and I'm like O_o

He said if you divide it by Pi it says 666 or something, I just ignored him lol.

It wouldn't say 666 because an Integer divided by an Irrational Number would yield another Irrational Number.

I'm pretty sure I got my younger step-brother to really get into Futurama, and we still talk about it together if we see each other.

More recently, without telling him to, one of my co-workers watched the entire series over a course of a few weeks after seeing one of my Futurama games.  I believe that technically counts.

Yeah well I didn't come up with it so I'll tell him that. XD

Since it's been back on the air I've gotten some of my co-workers to watch it and I work with people that do not enjoy cartoons, especially ones that are sci-fi themed.  Now to get my boss to watch it :evillaugh:

I'm not kidding, I actually saw this thread idea while sifting through old pages. But it was like from 2002 and I'm pretty sure none of those posters are active anymore Xalso don't even remember the name of the thread), so you're good :p

I haven't needed to convince anyone because those who don't watch it aren't my friends anyway. Hahaha.

My little brother watches the show with me on occasion, as does my best friend. They're not obsessive fan boys or anything (though my brother and I used to have quote-offs--contests to see who could use and cite the most Futurama quotes before their opponent had been shamed), but it's sometimes nice to have someone else to enjoy the show with.

Actually, though, I find that I much prefer watching Futurama by my lonesome. Not only does it reinforce my own dorkiness and loserdom--it also makes it less embarrassing when I laugh like a fool at the nerdiest of jokes.

My little sister used to hate it with a passion, and couldn't see why I liked it so much. I showed here the recent prisoner of benda episode, and she actually liked it. Now she's starting to warm up to the series.

I find it so weird that siblings wouldn't partake in the same things eventually. I am an only child though so I don't know what it's like, but my cousins (two guys) and I all watch and know and quote the same stuff like Futurama and Star Trek. Pretty much if they don't like Futurama I don't see how we could be friends because it has made such a huge impact on my life what with the formation of PEEL and all.

Makes sense to me!

Seriously though, my friends and I share the same slightly dark, twisted sense of humor, so if one of us likes something, the odds are pretty good that ALL of us will like it. So nearly all of my friends love Futurama. It's the family members who are a lot harder to convince.

You can choose your friends, but you can't choose your family.

You can chop them into pieces and feed them to local wildlife though.

No, I'm too sure 'bout that. But I do know that I can simply take them to cabin in the woods and have a "nice" family moment.  :evillaugh:

Or at least tell them you're taking them to the cabin and then nail some broad instead. But the worse would be to not tell them about the cabin and then not take them.

A lot of my friends love the show, but my family thinks I'm nuts for liking it.  With the expection of my sister.
