I was just wondering since I've encountered this once or twice.

What are your friends views on Futurama? (If you got any...  :p ).

When the topic comes around (remarkably quite a few times) it seems people either love it or hate it. People who hate it say its not funny, they don't get it, etc. Naturally I fire them, out of a cannon... into the sun. The rest say stuff like: Bender is hilarious! I love that show! Blah blah blah.

Most of my freinds like the show, but prefer The Simpsons. One of my friends even bought Season One on DVD, but he buys so many DVDs I lose count. Most of my friends have watched a hadful of episodes, and have liked what they've seen, but don't go out of their way to watch it.

I got my gf to watch Futurama, and she likes it almost as much as I do. My friends are all losers and watch the other drivel and crap on TV. I hear "Is it like The Simpsons?" a lot.

I keep my love of Futurama to myself. At my age (shuddup) I'd have enough problems with the "geek" factor, even if I could keep from opening my mouth about Amy. That's why I'm here so often every day. You people are my only friends!!

At my blue-collar job, a few people watch Futurama in the break room, and like it, but the hairy-knuckled apes of the majority bray loudest at Homer's violence and bloody injuries on The Simpsons, when they aren't enjoying Gay Porn (WWF Smackdown).  :nono:

The three most immediate members of my family all enjoy Futurama.

As for my two best friends, one doesn't watch it because he's not into either sci-fi or animated shows, and the other's never watched it because some guy at his college told him it wasn't as good as the Simpsons.

All of my firends (the sad geeky ones from school) watch Futurama religiously but dont talk about it much. Others I speak to don't seem to have watched it yet. My Mum is always comparing it to The Simpsons (I dont think the 2 are related at all except being animated comedies). I didnt watch Futurama when it first came out because I cant stand sci-fi, but when I watched A Flight to Remember once I got hooked. The next episode I saw was Loves Labours Lost in Space, both of which are 2 of my fave episodes to date.

I dont think Futurama is as much a family show as The Simpsons is, and a lot of people seem to view it as being childish. I think that most people who dont watch Futurama have just never actually bothered to watch it. The fact that it is one so rarely too doesn't help that fact much.

I get into arguments like this constantly with my firends. I despise sci-fi because it is strange and makes no sense, but I love romantic comedies like Cold Feet. I bet I am outnumbered here too  ;)

I've got three friends that are hooked on it
One friend that would be hooked on it if she could see it
2 friends that like it, but not as much as they like The Simpsons or South Park
1 friend that doesn't understand at all why anyone likes it
and 1 friend that doesn't really watch TV anyway.

"Is that the one with the robot and Peg from Married With Children?" is the best line I've heard so far.

They stopped showing it on network TV a few years ago here, so any sort of fanbase is almost nonexistent. A few of my friends watch the occasional RM ep on my PC when they're around here, but I'm the only person I know that's really into it. It's not like The Simpsons where groups of us have been known to sit around for ages reciting quotes and humourous situations from the show.

1 who likes it almost as much as I do, a couple who don't mind it, and the rest just thinks it's a bad copy of the Simpsons (no matter how much I try to tell them that you can't, and shan't, compare these two show).

It's frustrating.  I can't talk to anyone at college about Futurama.  I want to discuss the latest episode, or give some random quote to laugh over, but no one is into it.  I have one friend who watches and loves it, but he lives in my home state now, so I have to settle with the forums and ICQing him.

I've never really got to watch a good episode with another fan, which would make Futurama even better.   :(

I've got a couple of friends who like it, including my girlfriend, which is great.  :) I can't seem to find anyone who I can convince that The Simpsons is now terrible, though.

Well, that's really for each of us to decide. Don't worry; The Simpsons will eventually alienate everyone who used to love it.

(Next season's finale: Homer cuts off each of his fingers and toes one by one with garden shears, spraying blood everywhere while winking at the camera and commenting on how much the show has come to "suck." Also: Marge makes that noise. The episode is actually supposed to be about Bumblebee Man's ex-wife, but the writers refused to put her into the script, because there was a gag about Steve McQueen being a drunken wife-beater who died of cancer which one of them really, really wanted to do instead, and it takes a third of the episode to explain. Special guest stars: the director's kids, Greg Kinnear, and The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence.)

My closest friends all love Futurama and request the episodes on CD from time to time. One of them was pushed into voting for Scruffy at the Futurama Survivor finale  :)

My best mate watches them occasionally but i'm really the only die-hard fan that I know!

Its funny because when Futurama started I was at university (no TV, let alone digital!) and a friend of mine said that he had watched the first couple of eps. He said that he didn't find it that funny and he also remarked that Bender was 'just like Homer Simpson'.    (eh?)

Bizarre.

I've managed to get my family addicted to the show.  I also have a few friends that watch it - other friends are slowly being subverted to the cause.

Futurama is a great show, I don't understand why more people don't get it...

I've got 2 best friends and 1 of them likes it but prefers the Simpsons and the other 1 doesn't have the slightest interest in it whatsoever! Shes more interested in anime and spiderman to be honest  :) The rest of my friends go to a different college so I dont get to see them or talk to them much nowadays  but they're way more interested in unrealistic soap-operas and other junk that I dont watch on the TV  :)

No one I know likes it as much as me, but some I know enjoy it.  My younger brother likes it, he was pissed when he caught me watching the DVD's without him(I couldn't wait!).  My older brother likes Futurama, but he doesn't like the simpsons.  Then there is another friend who likes Futurama, but doesn't think it's better than the Simpsons(I think Futurama has surpassed the Simpsons).  The rest of my friends wouldn't know what it is.  At least I have a few to watch with!

Its mainly becuase I want to explore an endless void full of an infinite number of new expireinces and life  :D also:
I have only met 3 women that are my type...(There are way too many materialistic airheaded women in my area  :( (I hate airheads  )anywho..) so partialy to find sexxy alien chicks, but also I will call for a crew, and passangers to join me(I will test them to filter out the pricks like Fox Execs for example.) and I figure any woman who would want to explore the galaxy would be a closer step to being my type.  :p

Most people I know still like The Simpsons, and I did get to know at least two people who are hardcore fans like myself. I have yet to meet a Futurama fan as big as myself in real life, though.

My best friend, a fan of all things anime, watched four eps in TV, but the last one he saw was 'A Tale of Two Santas' and before that 'A Big Piece of Garbage'. I made him watch three more on my computer, and he remember how he likes all the gags and references to other stuff. I'd say he's back in the saddle  :)

I love the episodes I've seen so far.  I usually try to watch it with my little brother. He seems to like it also. And our neighbor/his friend, watched an episode at our house once and seemed to think it was pretty funny.   :D It's just a clever show, I think.
