I don't think there'd be any reason for them to change the opening credits. The SG-1 credits were decent at one point, then they went with the terrible CGI-gate-abortion thing for the last couple of seasons. That was worse, IMO than when they just smashed the title onto the screen and got straight on with the episode.

No need to change the opening credits, The Simpsons opening was dated, but Futurama's won't become dated until the year 3000 and we'll all be dead then anyway, as will the show. Now I made myself sad ...

It really wouldn't affect the overall quality of the show in my mind but I do appreciate the subtle variations of the original opening that have been explored so far so this idea really tickles my interest

Did anyone ever watch Dilbert? That show had one of the greatest opening credits scene of a cartoon show that I witnessed.
I agree. A lot of it has to do with Danny Elfman's song, but I thought that opening sequence really does convey the desperation and madness of that twisted world of a workplace.
