Do you think Futurama doesn't get advertised enough? Not to say it isn't advertised, I'm just hoping more so in the future.

If you look on Youtube (one of most popular sites on the Internet) you don't see to much ads or advertisements: about Futurama.

As big as a Futurama fan I am of it's many fans, this show isn't very universally recognized.

Ehh, I wouldn't mind seeing more ads for it on television, but not on Youtube.  Especially if they were the type of ads that make me wait for a video.   RAGE!!!

It should get advertised a little bit more.  I agree that it doesn't get advertised enough.   Maybe the new season it should be advertised more!

With people having DVRs and such now-a-days, TV advertisements get tuned out.  Though through advertisements, I would like to know when the 2nd half of this season starts.  (I completely forgot to watch the Christmas Special when it originally came out)   I hope I don't miss the first episode because I wasn't even aware it was airing.

Surprisingly the Season 5 DVD release for Tuesday was advertised on tonight's Simpsons episode on Fox.

Oh, The Irony. Ummm... Naah, But It's nice to see that Comedy Central at least makes an effort to sell some DVDs. (More chance for an order for another season, Hoorah.)

Fox ought to let go of some new series and (perhaps) put Futurama in the "Animation Domination" slot.

But on topic, I think it's enough, it seems like most fans understood that there was new episodes...

Just want we need, Futurama getting preempted for the NFL, World Series, and any other random sporting event.
or at the very least throwing my DVR off.

Futurama gets advertised quite a bit, but if you compare it to the likes of family guy etc... I guess it could do with more advertisement yes

I know people who liked Futurama, but didn't know it was back until I told them.

---------------------

Edit: Is now a thread.

Would this be a good thread to start?

People who think Futurama is a kid's show?

I hate people who think Futurama is a kid's show! (Not to the point of killing them, but just sigh at their ignorance.) If it's a kid's show then why does it have to be censored so much? (If you seen the DVDs you will notice; jokes, lines, scenes cut out.) Though it depends on what time in the day, and what channel, also where you live.

Sky One is the only one for me.

There is a clear difference between kid's shows and adult cartoons.  If they bothered to watch the show for 5 minutes, they would realize this.

I doubt there is a Bob the Builder forum.

Oddly enough, having bought and watched most of the Volume 5 blu-ray, there is no mention of the series currently airing on Comedy Central. If one were to pick up the set, they would get zero hint of what channel is airing the show. For all they could know, it's still on FOX. No ads, no inserts. Nada. Only the commentary makes mention of Comedy Central.

Obviously they didn't matter

Binder: Where is the commentary on the discs??? It's usually under languages but I don't see it. I am getting very agitated and I don't want to associate annoyance with Futurama!

Maybe check special features? On the Blu-ray the commentary selection appears under the episode select and in the special features tab. Not too sure about the DVD.

Thanks you guys, I saw that like 30 min (yes 30 min!!) after I posted that. I was so annoyed I got my glasses to read the screen. But on past DVDs you could select a commentary for one episode and it would play it for the whole disc, but on these new ones you can't do that? What gives!!

Do you even remember when it got pre-empted by football?

There is a Bob the Builder forum... a few actually.  Some of them are not what you'd expect; you've been warned. :shifty:

I usually just select "play all" and then press the audio button on the DVD remote to get to the commentary (except on Season 1 and 2, what with the lack of a play all function and all).

To answer the question of the thread: I don't live in America so I can't really say how well CC advertises the show, but I do recall reports of them advertising the hell out of the premier of Rebirth.

I have seen the advertisement to the new season right. (months ago, and I knew before then it was coming back before I saw that, news groups like here and the Futurama Madhouse, Can't get enough Futurama news, Futurama Fan Forum, slurmed.com etc gave me the info I needed.) But I'm yet to see an advertisement of new seaosn on DVD/Blue Ray.

And just for old times sake: Here's IMDB's DVD trailers of the older seaons. Who gave Futurama 92 out of 100!
