This isn't exactly Futurama-related, but I wanted it to get read.

Maybe I'm just a dumbass, but what the hell are / how the hell do you use newsgroups? (ie: alt.simpsons.something or other like this i forget)

I actually want to find out how to use newsgroups to help organize a potential trip to Nepal.  If you can help me out, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks
Leandro

Just type news:alt.tv.futurama in the address bar of your browser. On a Windows system, that'll most likely launch Outlook Express, asking you for a news server. Your ISP gives you that info, but it's most likely "news." followed by your ISP's domain (for example, if your ISP's main page is at www.hosting.com,  the news server is most likely news.hosting.com).

You can also try going to http://www.deja.com/usenet/.  I don't know if it's still online, but it used to archive everything that was posted at usenet (newsgroups)...

One group about Nepal is news:soc.culture.nepal. However, I suppose its rather about the culture there (-> name :) ) than about trips. Perhaps a groups about traveling will bring up more informations.
