I've stopped voting because there's no way Where No Fan Has Gone Before would be that far down the line and still not even make it

I predict it will either be the 15th or 16th best Futurama episode!

My nominations are for Anthology Of Interests I and II!

Exactly DannyJC13, and other such lines as:

Glurmo: Soon enough.

Fry: That's not soon enough!

Just like it's not soon enough for this ep to win!...

You're right; there are also episodes which should be IMO higher placed too.
With this, I'm nominating Where No Fan Has Gone Before :)

It's only funny because you're a Star Trek fan. It's a good episode...but there's a lot more that are much more deserving.

I completely disagree, it's an incredibly well structured piece of comedy and probably one of the 5 best written episodes in the show's entire run.

Although I wouldn't hate to see WNFHGB get the nod now. It's a great episode, very funny.

The problem is that there is a "glass ceiling" for this episode.  It's always the same group of people voting for it, but no other people are joining in, and hence episodes that were far below it in the earlier votes are now passing it and getting elected.

ok...so the poll is up again.  I have included Anthology of Interest I (#11 rated), Anthology of Interest II (#21 rated), and Where No Fan Has Gone Before (#18 rated).  While Fry and the Slurm Factory would normally not be in the poll (#42 rated), 3 of you nominated it, so I included it.  [This is a good example of using nominations to get an episode included in the poll that would normally not be there.  Good job. :p ]

As a reminder to the new people who will probably be joining with Futurama returning Thursday, episode rankings are taken from the old thread "I have attempted the impossible" and can be seen HERE.

Because "European" is pronounced with a 'y' sound (as in "Yer-opean"), whereas "hour" starts off with an 'ou' sound. Danny's right that if a word begins with a vowel sound, you use "an" instead of "a" (like I did in the previous sentence, for 'ou'). He just misspoke a wee bit, but it's clear what he meant to say, so don't be so nitpicky, Svip. ;)

That's not a y-sound.  Y sounds like i, only more pointy lips.  You are thinking of j.  Don't be nervous, j in English is a dj-sound.

Also, I thought it as [je·ro·pean].

Technically, you'd be just as correct to say "a hour" as you would "an hour". "An" and "a" are both interchangeably correct in front of an 'h'. It's somewhat archaic to use it for words with a hard 'h' sound, though.

And Svip, it is a 'Y' sound. Aren't you from some crazy European country that isn't England? Don't they pronounce their 'J's and 'Y's a little different there? I think that might be part of it.
'J' does make for a 'dj' sound as you put it, but the word isn't pronounced 'djure-oh-pee-an', it's more of a 'yure-oh-pee-an'.

No, the only correct way to say it is "an hour". You use "an" for soft 'h' and "a" for hard 'h', as in "an hour has passed" versus "a hard rain's gonna fall".

I am sure Randi will be happy to see this:

After 23 votes, the winner for the 15th best Futurama episode of all time is:
Where No Fan Has Gone Before with 8 votes (34.8%).
Anthology of Interest I had 6 votes (26.1%)
Fry and the Slurm Factory had 5 votes (21.7%)
Anthology of Interest II had 4 votes (17.4%)

So to recap, voted the best Futurama episode of all time: Roswell that Ends Well
The 2nd best Futurama episode of all time: The Luck of the Fryrish
The 3rd best Futurama episode of all time: The Sting
The 4th best Futurama episode of all time: The Late Philip J Fry
The 5th best Futurama episode of all time: Parasites Lost
The 6th best Futurama episode of all time: The Farnsworth Parabox
The 7th best Futurama episode of all time: The Devil's Hands Are Idle Playthings
The 8th best Futurama episode of all time: Space Pilot 3000
The 9th best Futurama episode of all time: Time Keeps on Slippin'
The 10th best Futurama episode of all time: Jurassic Bark
The 11th best Futurama episode of all time: The Why of Fry
The 12th best Futurama episode of all time: Amazon Women in the Mood
The 13th best Futurama episode of all time: The Prisoner of Benda
The 14th best Futurama episode of all time: Teenage Mutant Leela's Hurdles
The 15th best Futurama episode of all time: Where No Fan Has Gone Before

Now it is time to state your vote for the 16th best Futurama episode of all time (with Roswell that Ends Well, The Luck of the Fryrish, The Sting, The Late Philip J Fry, Parasites Lost, The Farnsworth Parabox, The Devil's Hands Are Idle Playthings, Space Pilot 3000, Time Keeps on Slippin', Jurassic Bark, The Why of Fry, Amazon Women in the Mood, The Prisoner of Benda, Teenage Mutant Leela's Hurdles, and Where No Fan Has Gone Before obviously being out of vote consideration).

Remember (again), if you want your choice of episode in the poll, you need to state your opinion...especially if it is not normally considered a top 10-20ish episode....a lone nomination for an episode out of this range usually does not garner inclusion in the poll.
