I have just attempted the impossible, by ranking all 100 episodes of Futurama from favourite to least favourite. It took quite some time, and quite some thought, but I think I've decided on my list.

There may be some shocks for people on certain episodes ranking low/high, but just remember - everyone watches Futurama for different reasons. Each to their own and all that. So feel free to post your own lists as it may be interesting to see where some eps rank with people.

So yeah, here's my list, with the new series eps in bold.
(Note - The movies take up 4 positions each, as each is 4 parts)

So yeah, series 6 ranked very high for me overall. 8/12 episodes in the top 40, 5 of which in the top 20, 4 of which in the top 10, and 3 in the top 3!

I'm going to focus on the bottom half. Godfellas bottom and 41 episodes (including Devil's hands?!?!?!?! WTF?!?!?!) are worse than Cryonic Woman?!?

The season 6 episodes appear to be fairly evenly distributed through the full list, so I consider the season to be about average in comparison to the original run.

I'm not getting defensive, I just get a little annoyed when people try to imply that my opinion is void. Things like this are so subjective, but some people here seem to think it's objective.

Svip I actually was pleased with futurama's return was not a big fan of the first five episodes and that darn katz but I actually liked all the others especially The prisoner of benda just would not rank them in top 10. Good season give it a 7.5.

Jarvio: There's nothing wrong with putting the new episodes in the Top 10. The Prisoner of Benda is definitely Top 5 for me, and The Late Philip J. Fry gets into my Top 10. But to have 5 of the Top 12 being new episodes doesn't seem right. I liked That Darn Katz!, but no way it's in the Top 10. And to put it 6th but put Jurassic Bark 56th? You should've mulled this over more.

And cyber_turnip, you're really going to rank Bender's Game Parts 3 and 4 so highly? Parts 1 and 2 were the good parts of that movie. Once it got into the fantasy world, the movie did a total bellyflop.

Sure, it's a high feat to create the ultimate list with which everybody agrees for a show with such a fervent following, but so far I only think Mongo's gotten close to the definitive rankings.

Most of part 3 is set outside of Cornwood and I wouldn't say part 4 is rated that highly. It's pretty much bang in the middle, making it 'average'. I didn't think it was awful, it just wasn't amazing.

Data and calculations got thrown out halfway through. So do your own list your own way. Series 6 episodes bolded to show quality distribution of the new eps.

I say calculations got thrown out but really I just decided to tweak things when I wasn't happy with the overall standing of an episode. I rated them out of 5 on animation, story, "heart" (squishy emotions or shippiness), rewatchability, and my overall enjoyment of the episode. Then converted that score out of 25 into a percentage and perhaps adjusted it by a point or two to fit. Tiebreaking was simply a matter of which episodes I felt deserved to be ranked higher, and the movies received the mean average of their component parts.

I'm happy with the list. It's a good one, IMNSHO.

Wow...it's interesting to see how people can rank episodes so differently.  For example, The Problem with Popplers is ranked here anywhere between 8 and 52!

I guess this goes to show you people have their own tastes.

You know what would be great?  If Futurama would allow the fans (ie us and others) to write the script for 1 episode through forums....obviously written on a consensus nature.  That could be great....Or, this would just create utter pandemonium and ciaos.  It would be interesting to see if this happened, where that episode would fall on our lists.

I mulled it over as much as I could. Just because Jurassic Bark is such a critically acclaimed ep, doesn't mean everybody will think it's one of the best. As I said, many people watch Futurama for different reasons.

I didn't intend for anyone to agree with my list. This is MY list, just as your list is YOURS. Also, there is no such thing as "definitive rankings" because it's all opinion, why can't people see this? Mongo got close to YOUR rankings, not the 'definitive' as there's no such thing.

Honestly, I don't know why so many people are offended by my list. I didn't expect people to agree with it, which is fine. But to actually be offended? This is not aimed just at you by the way i_c_weiner, it's aimed at many who have posted here

Not crazy, just has an opinion like everyone else in the world.
I actually think Attack of the Killer App took a beating here. It may not be a top 10, but I think there were some funny parts in it. MHO.

If I actually do a list like this, I'll just rate the episodes out of ten, then sort them in bunches.

I have entered all six (so far) lists onto a spreadsheet (minus the movies, which are treated differently in the individual lists, either worth four spots, one spot, or no spots at all) and took a straight average of the six listed positions of each particular episode.

Just finished my rankings. They're very different from everybody else's. Big differences seem to be:

• I rank The Late Philip J. Fry, Space Pilot 3000, Teenage Mutant Leela's Hurdles, and other "big name" episodes lower than everybody else.
• I rank The Farnsworth Parabox, War Is the H-Word, Where No Fan Has Gone Before, and The Beast with a Billion Backs relatively high.
• I put Bender's Game pretty low comparatively.

I started by ranking the episodes from newest to oldest. This may explain why some of the new episodes are grouped so closely. I thought this method would've given them a better shot at being ranked fairly because I wouldn't have gotten all nostalgic before ranking them. My average Season 6 ranking is 40.333, so that puts the season as a whole as above average! I didn't sit down and do the math on the other seasons because I don't have the time right now, but I can quickly see that I ranked the movies a bit past above average (34.25 average).

I ranked it 34th out of 88 episodes/movies. That puts it squarely in the top half of episodes. I think that's sufficient love right there.

Two things I noticed about this list:  The top three episodes are Fry episodes, and the two Harlem Globetrotter episodes are ranked consecutively at #5 and #6, just below the "Big Four".

I would call the classical "Big Four" episodes to be The Luck of the Fryish, Roswell That Ends Well, The Why of Fry, and The Sting. The Late Philip J. Fry could be a new addition to those. There never really seemed to be a consensus classical Big Four for the more comedic episodes, but I always thought that War Is The H-Word and The Farnsworth Parabox were always in that elite group. The Prisoner of Benda would be the new addition there.

I have always loved How Hermes Requisitioned His Groove Back. I am happy to see other people liked it.  I would not say it was the most amazing episode, but it always brings a smile to my face.  So many good jokes and great energy.  I only wish they could make a Zoidberg episode that good.
