Speaking of deliveries, how many have they done so far in this season?

There was one in Attack of The Killer App, one in this episode and we know that there'll be one in Benderama. So, unless I'm forgetting any, we only need another episode aside from those three I mentioned and it'll be just like in the original run...

After a few views I consider if it would have been better to make this a two parter. You know, the second part beginning right after Fry is mutated, making it one hell of a cliffhanger as well as giving more space for the actual revolution.

We sort of saw some deliveries leaving in The Late Philip J. Fry when we saw Leela's super-improved Planet Express.
Does that count?

I think we've only had... two deliveries this season? One in AOTKA, and another in TMAR. Also, referencing the fight on pages 2 and 3, I invoke that nobody shall reference Godwin's Law, or the offences shall be dire...

I loved this episode, though some of the jokes have been reused, like about Titanic, mutants and such, but still funny.

I did like how they didn't cop out with Fry changing back to normal, since they previously said once you mutate, there's no going back.  I am a little skeptical how Fry managed to avoid mutation by jumping.  As you see from the episode; he does hit the lake, so if Mr. Astor did have his mouth open Fry would still have some of the ooze on him once got out.  Also, once Astor spits him out, Fry has some of that sludge on him and you wonder won't those parts of his body mutate?

I liked Devo's cameo and the song, "beautiful world" montage.  I was a great season finale.  Can't wait for the Xmas special in December.

They didn't really reuse any jokes about the Titanic or mutants; they just entered the same well of material.

Futurama isn't above cartoon logic. As far as the writers are concerned, Fry landed in the guy's mouth and thus didn't mutate. Presumably small amounts of the liquid don't mutate you.

I was dissapointed in this episode. Don't get me wrong, it was an ok ep. But for the 100th episode I was expecting a lot more. The story was decent. But the jokes just didn't make the cut for me. Although having said that, the Professor did have some great moments as usual, cracking the safe open with a skull lol. Overall a good episode, but one of the lesser of this series IMO.

Also, where was Zapp? I was expecting him to make an apperance in the 100th episode, seeing as he's the most major non-PE character. There has been a lack of Zapp this series I've noticed.

Yeah, the season overall could have done with more Zapp. Zapp is one of the few non-PE secondary characters that are good for both cameos and full plots.

Youtube video of the song by the 1960s group Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich (from earlier in this thread)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTR06YItGVo

According to the Wikipedia Page
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dave_Dee,_Dozy,_Beaky,_Mick_&_Tich
"Bend It" was released September 1966.

From the page:

Vocalist Dee, the ex-policeman, was at the scene of the automobile accident that took the life of the American rock and roller Eddie Cochran and injured Gene Vincent in April 1960. Dee had taken Cochran's guitar from the accident and held it until it could be returned to his family.

Between 1965 and 1969, the group spent more weeks in the UK Singles Chart than The Beatles.

"Bend It!" was a big hit in Europe, including a Number One in Germany. In order to obtain a bouzouki sound on the recording, an electrified mandolin was used. The combined UK and European sales were over one million. However, in October 1966, the British music magazine, NME commented that dozens of US radio stations had banned the record, because the lyrics were considered too suggestive. The group responded by recording a new version in London with a different set of words, which was rush released in the US, as the original single was withdrawn from sale.

Lyrics (from http://www.justsomelyrics.com/591318/Dave-Dee-bend-it-Lyrics)

Bend it, bend it, just a little bit
And take it easy, show you're likin' it
And lover, you know that we're gonna hit
The heights 'cos I'm sure that we're made to fit
Together just like pieces of a
Jigsaw puzzle, what's the hustle

Bend it, bend it, just a little more
Without you, baby, I'm so insecure
But you can make me feel that I am sure
I've got a sickness only you can cure
So just relax, there's stacks of time, but honey
Please don't tease me - try to please me

Oh-yeah, that's good, oh-yes, ah-yes

Bend it, bend it, just a little bit
And take it easy, show you're likin' it
And lover, you know that we're gonna hit
The heights 'cos I'm sure that we're made to fit
Together just like pieces of a
Jigsaw puzzle, what's the hustle

Bend it, bend it, just a little bit
And take it easy, show you're likin' it
And ahhh... show me now, yeah that's right
Ah, oh yeah, yeah that's right
C'mon now, right right right

I think the most memorable scene from this episode is the moment before Fry jumps into the mutagenic lake.

Fry: "You were right, I don't know what it's like to be a mutant, but I want to know"

The look of determination on his face as he says the last part of the line and the emotion in his voice is amazing.  He has the look on his face of a man who it about to change his whole life merely for the opportunity to see life through the eye of the woman he loves.

it always cracks me up that Leela watches Fry jump into the lake and can see bubbles coming up from where he went in when she rows out to get him, and yet she still leans out of the wrong side of the boat when she's trying to fish him out.

I liked it but maybe that's because I enjoy the whole Leela is a mutant storyline. I did feel it was a  bit rushed though. And I'm still majorly confused about the nature of Fry and Leela's relationship this season. My guess is that  the writers do this on purpose or maybe they just haven't decided yet. Romance between two main characters can kill a show as we all know (Lois and Clarke etc.).,

Really? This whole season I've thought it was pretty obvious that they're in some form of romantic relationship but the writers just aren't focusing on it every episode. Yet people keep saying they're so confused by it...

I guess they should hint to it often, then have a plot where it has it being a major part of the episode.

I missed it last week on account of I was sick.  I caught the episode yesterday!  It was an awesome way to end a fun and satisifing season 6.  I liked all the episodes expect for the App one and the one about Lrrr.  Who knew Bender can jettison in far distances?  The whole episode was fun from beginning to end!  The mutant revolt reminded me of the Arizona Immigration law.  Bender's party was funny and so was the land Titanic where we learn Leela has a grandmother!   Fry turning into a mutant was cool, too!  Leela was dynamite in it. Sure made up for her being Lrrr's and Fry's punching bag in the episode before.  I give it 5/5!

Leela wasn't actually anyone's punching bag in Lrrreconcilable Ndndifferences, you're just an idiot with a some kind of boner for Leela so nothing you can twist around to seem negative can happen to her otherwise she's the punching bag and it's awful episode.

Shouldn't this episode have been terrible, actually? Because Leela got forced to live in the sewer! GASP! She's the punching bag!

I just rewatched that part of TMaR and it is pretty hilarious, but I seriously wondered why she didn't just jump in after him, i mean she's a mutant after all, the lake won't mutate her.

Ehhm. Well I'm gonna let that one go because I don't have that much to say in my defence (and because I'm impressed that you know so much about Austrian-Hungarian history).

But still, I would argue that writers are playing 'are they - aren't they' game, I really think it is difficult to tell where they are trying to go (presumably they don't know either). On the other hand, it would be boring if we would see them cuddle all the time and discussing relationship stuff (thanks I got that in my own life already). Also I presume that I'm totally contradicting myself but I don't care.

A good deal of Futurama's heart and soul has always been in Fry's chase of Leela.

The writers are trying to squeeze that for as long as they can before actually cementing them together, thus losing a big aspect of what makes the show for a lot of people.

Exactly my thought. Guess she was in shock. Or wore nice clothes.

Indeed. And I don't mind it like this, it's not at all a Ross-and-Rachel thing to me, it seems quite realistic for a couple that knew eachother for ten years before it finally happened. They're confused and Leela's probably still not entirely sure about everything.

The whole mutating and unmutating idea is unintentional in my opinion.  I think that the writers and artists just saw it as a convenient way of showing the genetic trend.  But if you think about it, It doesn't have to have anything to do with the genetics.  Leela's mom has two eyes , her grandmother three, and leela one.  However, we know that Leela's dad only has one eye, so this could simply be the dominant gene in the family resulting in leela's one eye.  As for the difference between her mom and grandmother, it's possible that her father (leela's grandfather) only had two eyes and again was the dominant gene.  Of course you could also throw out all of this if you look at this from the standpoint that mutations are in fact unpredictable.  The very idea is that these are random mutations that cause a normal person to change into something else.
We also do not know what caused the first wave of mutations.  This could be a good basis for a future episode.  Something where the normal population, being tired of looking at the hideous mutants, need to find a way to reverse the mutations.  Then the professor could be the one who comes up with the cure but tests it on Leela first with disastrous results until he perfects the process.  Then he would use it on leela and we find out she is not mutated but a new breed of human or something like that.  I think that would be a cool episode.  Let me know what you think.

Gave it a 9
