Have you ever heard a song and it reminded you of something from Futurama, or just Futurama in general?

For some reason this song reminds me of Fry and Leela's thoughts on their relationship, i'll put an F or an L for which one i think is singing:

YOU AND ME

L: Tell me
L: Can you feel it or you can't
L: Don't give up turn around
L: Close your eyes and tell me how you feel
L: Give me something real
L: Yes you can do it
L: Love warrior fight for your love

L: It was a little game, but...
L: A harmless lie, but...
L: As a result of that thought...
L: My heart is now aching...

F: From where it rises and comes
F: The courage i'd need
F: To save you if you were drowning

F: A lonely story, alone i search
F: Dreaming of the moment we met
F: I don't know where i'm going
F: Only the night sky does

L: My single tear dries
L: Time becomes involved
L: Secretly i continue to protect you
L: You are here so i'll smile
L: Though i'm really crying

F: Only or you
F: Will i grasp and protect this world
F: You are here
F: So the love i want is near
F: This world is for you
F: More than anybody

That wasn't the entire song, but it was most of it, i dunno why it reminded me of Fry and Leela...

Anybody else got any songs that remind them of Futurama?
And can anybody guess where that song is from?
I'll post the answer in a little while.

Lola always makes me think about The Velourfog and his performance in "Amazon Women In The Mood". Plus there are some nice new lyrics to that song at TLZ.

For some reason "Dominant Genes" by Maxim reminds me of Futurama. One day I might make up a video montage of Futurama clips to go with it.

I don't know if that counts, but there are always these commercials for this 80's Cd Collections late at night on the TV-networks and there are always many of the songs that are plaied in Futurama, so this commercials always remind me of Futurama. :-)

That's "Men Without Hats". And it wouldn't be because Fry and That Guy were singing it in the show, would it?

A song by They Might Be Giants called "the sun is a mass of incandescent gas", it sounds like one of Farnsworth's lectures.

Chorus:

The sun is a mass of incandescent gas
A gigantic nuclear furnace
Where hydrogen is built into helium
At a temperature of millions of degrees

Every time TVNorway shows "Odd Couple", I think of Futurama.

This channel is by the way washed-up tv shows galore, just look at this (and this is today's complete tv schedule from 6:15AM to 14PM):
Beverly hillbillies, Brady bunch, Gomer Pyle, Laverne & Shirley, My three sons (also reminds me of Futurama!), Happy days, Mork and Mindy, Full house, I love Lucy, EastEnders (not the new ones) Cannon and Matlock.

Yay.

There was a song from the Donkey Kong Country cartoon where DK was singing a sad song because he was about to get beaten by Kong Fu. It reminds me of "Raging Bender" so much.

This is the lyrics for the song i used in my music video "Leela's moments of magic", posted in the videoclips section of TLZ.
The moment i heard it, i knew exactly what it sounded like. Fry's most inner thoughts about Leela.
For me, no other song than the intro theme itself will ever remind me more of Futurama.

"Angel"

I just want to tell you all the things you are
And all the things you mean to me
When I find myself believing there's no place to go
When I feel the loneliness inside my heart

You're the answer to my prayers
And you're with me everywhere
You're my angel, miracle, you're all I need tonight
Give me shelter from the rain
You breathe life in me again
You're my angel, miracle, you're all I need to know, tonight

Life is just a moment
We're blowing in the wind
We're trying to find a friend
And only time can tell us
If win or if we lose
And who will stand beside us

When there's darkness all around me
You're the light I see
When I need someone to ease my troubled mind

You're the answer to my prayers
And you're with me everywhere
You're my angel, miracle, you're all I need tonight
Give me shelter from the rain
You breathe life in me again
You're my angel, miracle, you're all I need to know, tonight

You're all I need tonight
All I need tonight
All I need tonight
You're my angel

You're the answer to my prayers
And you're with me everywhere
You're my angel, miracle, you're all I need tonight
Give me shelter from the rain
You breathe life in me again
You're my angel, my miracle, you're all I need to know, tonight

Yes. I'm a hopeless shipper, I admit it

I'm sure few if any of my fellow Americans on this messageboard know who S.P.O.C.K are, but I'm sure some of the Europeans do. Every time I listen to them (which is pretty often), I find myself imagining them singing a song about Futurama. And I think Alexander would get along with Bender quite well, too.

i am a fan of s.p.o.c.k and have *cough* aquired many of their songs as mp3s on my HDD. but i dont think about futurama when i hear them though. i dont think that just because they're sci'fi related it makes its futurama related.
but maybe thats just me

Hey, they don't just sing about Star Trek--they also have songs about Star Wars, the X-Files, sci-fi movies in general, etc.

I think a song in the style of their first album (when they mostly sang synopses of Star Trek episodes, like "Charlie X&quot ;) about Futurama could be great.

And if they won't do it, maybe Robert Enforsen (Elegant Machinery, Enforce, Hyper, etc.) will sing a song about being stuck on a spaceship with Leela and Amy. As long as he can mention their boobs (and I buy him a bottle of vodka), I'll bet he'd do it. "Bounce just a little more, let them bounce Amy!"

Well, Gigi D'Agostino's "I'll Fly with You" reminds me of Futurama. Especially the male lead's lyrics, since they remind me of Fry's thoughts of Leela. Also, the "flying" metaphor seems good for a sci-fi show. I think it should be played at the end of "Parasites Lost"

Every day and every night
I always dreamed 'bout you right by my side, oh baby
Every day and every night
When I said everything's gonna be all right
And I'll fly with you

good one "Starman"!

I don't know why but I think "Cry" by Simple minds could fit somewhere (I listened this song few minutes after the one by Pizzicato Five which is in "Leela's homeworld"... though, sure there are better songs to match the "futurama atmosphere", depending on the plot)

Well, I do think sometimes in terms of songs in which a Futurama music video could be done - the one that comes predomanitely to mind is "My Beloved Monster."

hate to resurrect a dead thread that was happily rotting in peace but Somewhere Out There by Our lady Peace reminds me of Futurama. Don't know exactly why though, maybe it has something to do with a guy singing about a chick with purple hair...

Vertical hoirzon-Everything you want
Works for me. Although i actually heard it set to a video of an anime, (Neon Genisis Evangelion) I instantly thought it worked for Fry and Leela. I think Theta might have it on her Futurama Cd.
