There was an episode of Big Bang Theory (honestly cant remember which) where Sheldon likened something to eating "the same deviled egg". In vain I hoped he was referencing Futurama but in all fairness probably wasn't. I dont know if Ive seen a blunt reference to it like the other shows they mention, only subtle things like that that make me wonder...

Did you make that? That is kind of cool. What, were you looking at France one day, and you were like, that looks like Fry.

In the Megamind movie there's brief background glimpse of the titular character's face in one of these posters:

This guy debuted the glorious golden Bender costume at the Duke @ Maryland game last Wednesday. The above is a screencap from ESPN showing him at that game. He later went on to win the arena fan-cam dance competition. He wore it again at yesterday's (Saturday's) game. TOO AWESOME.

Waitaminute ... That's the Bender from the alternate universe! The universe where everyone is evil. (Well, in Bender's case, more evil!)

There was a woman named Leela (probably spelled differently, but that's what it sounded like) on last week's episode of Nikita.

I like how they spelled "Hey" wrong.

The other day I discovered an episode of MST3K where the guys were forced to watch a movie called "The Blood Waters of Dr. Z".

"Lola" is playing on the radio right now. The Kinks just don't nail it as well as Zapp does.

I found myself at the pangrams page at Wikipedia. (A pangram is a sentence which uses each letter of the alphabet at least once.) I found the following, for the Czech language:

Nechť již hříšné saxofony ďáblů rozzvučí síň úděsnými tóny waltzu, tanga a quickstepu.

A rough translation? "Let the sinful saxophones of devils finally make the hall resonate with the frightful tones of waltz, tango and quickstep."

This reminded me of the Robot Devil's band in Robot Hell.

Holy crap, I just had a wonderful, wonderful chuckle. I was looking at a website for potential jobs/programs I could get into after I finish uni this year, and I'm on a page about Mars (the company that produces Mars bars, Snickers, etc) and I came across this dot point listed as part of their graduate program:

  • Enrolment in Mars University and in particular the Graduate School designed to fast track graduates

 :laff: Awesome.

My brother constantly plays Zombies on CoD Black Ops (I hate CoD ) and hearing a woman constantly saying 'Defcon *Insert Number* Reached' on it makes me think of Def-Con Owl Traps. =P

What Reminds you of Futurama

  • Averted in the Never Recycle A Building page of tvtropes: There should totally be a reference to Inspector #5's house (& the robot factory) from the Lethal Inspection episode—but there isn't. Xanfor would be outraged!

There was this TV advert not long ago which had "Everybody's Talkin'" on it, and every time I thought of Zapp and Kif in "Brannigan, Begin Again"...

Cool what you connect to Futurama...

So, my old (not anymore working) HD always reminded me at startup of Futurama. When it's going up to its operation speed, it sounds exactly like the PE ship at startup. And overall it's the same, right? I mean, a turbine also gets up to its operation speed, so...maybe it's even the sound of an old HD? :D

Last night my friends and I were eating take-away pizza under the night sky, and someone happened to look up and see the lights of a plane flying rather low above us. One of the girls said "Maybe it's santa!" and then another one said "Maybe it's the evil santa from Futurama!" and then another one said "Yeah, the red lights are his glowing eyes." And I thought to myself, what wonderful friends.
