I believe that after Fry is sent to Robot Hell, Leela makes a deal with the Robot Devil. That if Fry, or Leela, defeats the Robot Devil in a one on one battle to the death Fry is freed. And if they loose then Leela joins with Fry in Robot Hell.

And in what I think we'll air as the final episode, Fry writes a holophoner opera for Leela. The episode (and the opera) were written by Ken Keeler, and it is brilliantly funny

*bump* Less than 2 weeks till it finally airs. I'm sure soon a longer ep spoiler will be kicking around. Maybe even in some US TV guides already. Anyway, this thread seems pretty relivant at the moment

TV Guide has a description up, as well as this little introduction: "A sharply satiric sci-fi cartoon co-created by Matt Groening (The Simpsons), Futurama ends a five-year run that---when it wasn't preempted by NFL overruns, which seemed to be most of the time---earned it a loyal following and an Emmy last season for Outstanding Animated Program (it's been nominated again this year)." The description: This last original episode plays irreverently on Fry's long-standing crush on Leela. Hoping to win her through music, Fry determines to write an opera---one that borrows from Queen's “Bohemian Rhapsody”---expressing his feelings for her. The catch is, Fry can only become a virtuoso if he first strikes a bargain with the Robot Devil.

From the paper version of TV Guide: FUTURAMA'S FINAL FRONTIER Its Fox run is ending, but the cult-hit toon is already a cable winner
It's a conundrum worth of Professor Farnsworth himself: How did Futurama blossom into a cable smash after a bumpy five-season run on Fox?
Set in the 31st century, the animated series has proven to be a ratings success for Cartoon Network, averaging 2.4 million viewers a night in June. (The show returns to the network's lineup on November 2.) While that number - what executive producer David X. Cohen calls the show's "hardcore group of fans" - is little more than half of the 5.5 million viewers the series averaged on Fox last season, it's still an impressive number for cable. The show has also show promise in reruns on TBS, where it has been airing weekdays at 2pm/ET since July 7.
Fox has scheduled the final original episode for Sunday, August 10, at 7pm/ET. But Cohen believes the series might come back at some point, possibly for Cartoon Network, which has expressed interest. "In my dream world, Futurama would become a Star Trek-like phenomenon," he says. "It would keep growing over the years, and suddenly there are movies and we're signing autographs for $3." - Ethan Alter In conclusion, I hate Fox. Thank you and goodnight.

Its funny (some might say), the other night when I was on here I had an inkling that Fry's opera would be based on a song that had "Devil" or "Beelzebub" in the title (like Sabbath's Devil and Daughter or Mark Knopfler's Devil Baby) but Bohemian Rhapsody flew straight past me.

That's a great song to choose. It will fit right into the quirky style of Futurama and the odd way Frys mind works. I'm sure that the writers have done something great.

I suppose it won't be that bad if the only similarities are the three songs in one thing.

According to CGEF, the official description on the Fox site will somehow provide too much information about this episode. So don't look for it.

This is not a spoiler or based on the Official Site's descripition, just a simple prediction. Judging from the edited version of the episode description on "Can't Get Enough Futurama" front page it states that Bender sets up the deal for Fry, whether this means anything else for the episode remains to be seen. Also it has been stated in the commentaries that we would find out how Nibbler got out of the Robot Hell in the episode "Hell Is Other Robots". It was also stated in "The Why of Fry" that Nibbler wiped out Fry's memory because he had one last thing to do. If any of these facts are wrong, forgive me. IMO I believe that when Futurama's staff wrote the episode, they knew or at least had the feeling that this is its series finale and that no other Network is going to pick up the show. That being said its obvious or I at least hope that The Why of Fry wouldn't leave such a message about Fry's future/destiny to be unanswered. IMO I believe while a great deal of the episode will deal with Fry trying to get Leela in love with him, it will also have to have some to type of climatic battle that would the the series on a high note. My take is that the song won't be heard by Leela and therefore the spell or whatever won't work. But rather when she finds out that Fry was willing to go to Robot Hell for her love she now finally loves him back. And with that she makes the ultimate sacrifice out of love to take Fry's place in Robot Hell. That will most likely be the end of act 2. Obviously the writers wouldn't pass the chance of a great finale of who other than Fry and the Robot Devil. He'll try to mount a rescue with either him and Bender or the entire Planet Express crew, most likely just him and Bender. Nibbler will in some way reveal himself as for his true self and not as Leela's pet. He will explain that Fry has always had a special place in the universe's fate and has been overwatched for centuries, ect, ect. He will then explain that Fry has one last thing to do and that is to defeat the Robot Devil. He shows a secret path to and fro from Robot Hell that would help them sneak in without the Robot Devil knowing. Before they get out of the ship Nibbler will probably tell Fry, as a little forshadow and parody of what's to come, to put on some ancient battle robe that looks exactly like some Luke Skywalker Halloween costume. They get out of the ship and start looking for Leela. During all this we get to see the Robot Devil beginning some "painful and ironic" tortures for Leela. Then Leela asks why is he doing this, ect and the Robot Devil starts crying explaining how he was forced into this job. And all he ever wanted to do was just to "hang with some friends and watch video" . Leela comforts the Robot devil and explains that she has friends too, ect. He feels simpathy for her and agrees to let her go. Just then Fry jumps in, as the idiot he is, and starts trying to beat up the devil and ruins anything. He challenges him to duel. The Robot Devil agrees and states that if Fry wins he gets Leela back. But if the he wins, Fry must take his place as the Robot Devil. They agree and begin to duel with lightsabers. Their entire battle is just one big parody of Star Wars. In the end Fry looses. The Robot Devil gives his speech of "Now you must suffer forever..." and then Bender jumps in and explains that Fry was the only person that gave him hope and purpose to live, ect. He saved him from killing himself in Space Pilot 3000 and from Robot Hell. It would only be right if he was taken instead. The Robot Devil agrees and Fry and Leela leave the Robot Hell. They give Bender one last look and he says to them "Never forget me". Then the screen goes black and sentence "Never forget us" are written. And the episode ends. Now whether if any of that happens we'll have to wait and see.

I made up that entire thing in less than 30 seconds. I can't believe you guys thought that was the real thing, if it was I would have put a spoiler box around it. And the parody name of an ancient Devil isn't exactly something that I commonly use. I can't believe people fell for that/got upset. That's the worst episode description I've ever seen. Yeah, well it was late and I was tired when I wrote that, must have been stoned too . I wrote it as fast as I could to get my point across. I'm going to re-edit for errors, ect and explain that it is not a spoiler for those who couldn't figure it out the first time.
