Yeh, AOI (Anthology of Interest) is Futuramas verion of Treehouse of Horror, there was one last season and theres one this season so it looks like starting a tradition.

It's going to be a tight fit if FOX is going to air all the 3rd season's episodes next spring. There are 21 sundays from 7.1 to 27.5 and 18 new episodes to be aired. So there's room for only 3 pre-emptations or repeats (AFAIK, "The Cryonic Woman" is the last ep. this year).

oh yeah. that makes sense. the programs are alike cuz of the characters that frequently appear on the show. like zapp branigan could be troy mclure, except zapp appears more often than him. well, u get what i'm saying. at least, i hope u do cuz i ont understand what i'm writing myself! later

yah.  They need more little characters.  Like Moe, Apu, Chief Wiggum, Principal Skinner, etc. there are too many to name on the simpsons.  The only ones I can name on Futurama are Zapp and Kif, Morbo and that other lady, mom, tinny tim, the robot mafia.  Also that lady who appears everywhere. One specific instance is when she was the landlord for Fry and Bender's appartment in I Roommate.
There are a few more recurring people.  But I can't remember them.

Remember, there have only been 32 episodes of Futurama so far; there have been hundreds of Simpsons episodes. But, here's some other minor characters who have appeared at least twice:

And by the way: Is it just me, or did the LA 10-year-old street gang kids remind anyone of Nelson, Jimbo, and friends from the Simpsons?

And by the other way: Is it just me, or does UBB not like Netscape 6's edit text widget? Or maybe I just don't like it? The up arrow shouldn't jump 2/3rds of the way into the middle of the line for no good reason. And when you're wrapping text, the spaces shouldn't go to the start of the line. And... oh well, who cares.

Who is "Scruffy the Janitor" (or whatever you called him/her/it? Which episode is it in?
Let's not forget the slurm-people, which can be "recycled" for another episode.
But I guess most important sidekicks are the Omicronians (which you mentioned twice), Mom and her three kids an Wernstrom. Zapp and Kiff seem to be more than just frequently used characters. If Richard Nixons head belongs to the familiy I don't know yet. He appears in many episodes.

scruffy the janitor appears in i think 2 episodes; one was definitely the anthology of interest 1. richard nixon's head appears in more episodes now cuz he won the presidency for earth (i think it was a head in the polls). later

Scruffy was in three episodes: in "A Fishful of Dollars", he's the guy giving Bender a good buffing; in "Hell is Other Robots", he wheels the Beastie Boys onstage; and you already know about AOI1
