Perhaps you could give some examples of the jokes you find immature in Futurama and some examples of the jokes you find mature in Family Guy and South Park?

Point of clarification: Swearing and/or violence does not equal a "mature" joke.

He wouldn't know of any because he only watched a few episodes and didn't like it, so he went to bashing the show instead

That's the point. He can't make any good arguments against it because he clearly hasn't watched the show. Then again, he could be a fake account in which case there's no point even trying to reason with him. Then again again, there's probably no point in trying to reason with him even if he isn't a fake account because, if he's not a fake account, he's just some stupid trolling douche.

No, because if he's a fake account, he's a stupid trolling fake douche. There are many subtle differences between the two.

I can only speak for myself... but I'm a 28 year old PhD student.  Speaking of PhD's, I wonder how many of the writers on Family Guy or South Park are at all educated?

Part of the reason I like Futurama is because it is highly intelligent.  It is rare not only in animation, but in any television show to have jokes relating to mathematical theories etc.

Also, by the sounds of the OP, I'm guessing he falls into the 10 - 13 year old range by the way he refers to adults as though they are foreign.  Furthermore, it is only a kid who believes swearing and violence are signs of maturity.

Arrgh... one thing I never learnt was to not feed the trolls.

Oy vay!

Why does Shot keep doing this sort of thing?

family guy and south park are for a much older audience because they have the freedom to swear, be more violent and include jokes that adults find funny unlike this show

So if Scooby Doo's catch phrase was "Scooby dooby f***", they beat the crap out of the bad guy at the end and had regular orgies in the mystery machine it would it suddenly be a more mature show?

Edited to remove the swear word because it's technically against the rules and it isn't big or clever.

Ummm, Futurama. Is enjoyed by quite (loads of) a lot of older audience, as well as young people. And of course nerds. Edit: May I also state that Futurama is one of the only shows ever to cancelled and renewed/brought back.

Shot, no matter what you say you in particular you are always wrong. Plus IMDB gives Futurama as well as TV.Com at least 90 or more out of 100.

Ignoring for a moment Shot's troll-y intentions in creating this thread, it's kind of interesting to think about the show's demographic. I mean, I'm 18--and I've been a fan for about 6 years--but I do kind of wonder what the average age of a Futurama fan is. I'd say mid-20s, maybe?

Rhetorical question.

The irony is that a question regarding the age of Futurama fans is not as dumb as it sounds.  The way it gets introduced in this thread is just going to spark facepalms en masse.

Well... it's been about 10 years... so I'd say like mid-20's to mid-40's would probably be where most futurama fans lie.

Seems most people became a fan when the original run was ending. Really shows what a great job fox did promoting the show, don't it?

I think a big thing was that in Australia, I think futurama was pretty much over by the time it got aired on public tv, there were a lot of new fans of the show after it got cancelled.

It originally aired on network TV here in like 2000 or something then, after about season two, it got moved to something like 2 in the morning so everyone just assumed it was cancelled.

Edited for crappy typos.

Trey Parker and Matt Stone are both college educated. I didn't know there was South Park badmouthing here...
