Hey, Svip and fellow Futurama fans -- I've been unable to check the forum here regularly due to work and travel, but I wanted to give you all a heads-up that Atlanta's Dragon*Con 2010 (Sept 3-6) recently added as guests Futurama cast members Billy West, John DiMaggio, Phil LaMarr and Maurice LaMarche:

the clip for tomorrow's episode is up on comedy centrals website. it is the whole mind switching scene that we got snippets of from the sizzle reel, so some of it is new at least.

It's not really news, but Eric Rogers just invited Edgar Wright to write an episode of the show via Twitter.

I fear that Edgar will see a private account and not realise that it's a legit offer from someone on the show... but still. If that happened, I would wet myself with excitement. Especially if he directed it too.

You'd think if Eric Rogers was serious, he would also use another channel than Twitter, right?

haven't they written all the episodes for this production season?

they need to get approved for season 7 first.

Maybe they have and they just haven't announced it yet.  Or maybe CC said, 'okay, we'll buy another season, BUT ONLY IF EDGAR WRIGHT WRITES AN EPISODE, YA HEAR ME?!'.

This.

But yeah, I imagine he's working on the assumption that they're getting renewed because they probably are.

And as unlikely as it is that anything will come from this, a man can dream. A man can dream.

Trust me, it's quite funny.  Without giving the clip away, it makes references to the cancellation, FOX, and the Simpsons.  Can't wait two days!!!

Again? There's been one episode (mostly) dedicated to metahumour. The opening scene to BBS and this one clip don't count as episodes.

Even that's a stretch really. I mean, Rebirth wasn't dedicated to meta-humour. It was just the first 3 minutes or so and the last 30 seconds.

Firstly, just because they're making a joke about the same thing doesn't make it the same joke. Secondly, the last bit of meta humor that referenced the whole being cancelled and/or being un-cancelled was in Rebirth, 10 episodes ago. It's not like they've been doing nothing new and just making jokes about Futurama's cancellation the whole season.

Oh God! Meta humor! We're all gonna die!!!

So, it's still the same... if they made the same joke about eye-phones being installed in the eye in a movie and then in 2 episodes again you'd be complaining too.

I don't mind meta humour at all, but jeez, not the same again and again.

Yeah, because that'd be the same joke. If they made some joke referencing iPhones in a movie and then made an episode with a different joke that referenced the whole iPhone thing I wouldn't be going "Oh my God all they ever do is make jokes about the iPhone!"

mmm no

I would be pretty happy to see the eyephone in a movie too and in another episode (only seeing them, not having the whole thing focuse on it), cause that mean that they didn't throw these thing in the garbage. like when they say that leela has make love with zapp, they talk about it sometime in some episode and that make me happy to see a continuity.

My assumption is this:  The first act will take place at the Comic-Con event; some meta-jokes will be thrown about and then we get onto the real story!

The last pic is a pretty massive spoiler. I really can't wait for The Mutants are Revolting. It's been my 2nd most anticipated episode of this run since the start.

Or was it third after Rebirth? I'm not sure.

Actually, I wasn't able to beat stupid.  Someone already suggested that the entire episode would be meta-humour.
