Can't wait for "The Late Philip J. Fry", and I'm interested in "The Duh-Vinci Code", because it sounds like a sort of caper-y thing, something that Futurama has never really attempted. Oh, and

The Late Philip J. Fry is by far the episode I'm most looking forwards to from this season. I really can't wait.
I'm bored so here's a ranked list of this run in order of how much I'm looking forwards to them:
11.The Duh-Vinci Code
10.Attack of the Killer App
9.Lrrreconcilable Ndndifferences
8.Proposition Infinity
7.A Clockwork Origin
6.the holiday special
5.Lethal Inspection
4.That Darn Katz!
3.The Prisoner of Benda
2.The Mutants Are Revolting
1.The Late Philip J. Fry

Most of the episodes I don't really like the sound of are happening early on which is good because it means they'll be out of the way first, leaving only stuff for me to get really excited about.

Because I'm not too keen on the idea of them doing a parody of things that'll probably be outdated in a few years.
And the plot idea does nothing for me, it's going to have to rely on comedy for me to like it. I'm drawn to the episodes with plots that intrigue me. Generally speaking, my favourite episodes are the ones that are huge in scope, this sounds more of a sitcom-y plot like Bender Should Not Be Allowed on TV or A Route of All Evil, neither of which do that much for me.

I'm sure I'll enjoy it, I'm just not looking forwards to it as much as the others. I'm really looking forwards to it because it's new Futurama, but not because it's a new episode I'm desperate to watch.

He help up for Spanish Fry pretty well as the main supporting character. It's his first main episode, I have a good feeling. I also have a bad feeling, but I'll be optimistic this time given that Matt and DXC will be in the episode.

I haven't seen the preview of Attack of the Killer App because I live in the UK and Comedy Central won't let me view it.

And I felt that way about The Prisoner of Benda until I read that the plot involved characters switching minds. That got me interested in it.

So Comedy Central posted an "Ode to the Fans", and yet again called us Parrotheads!!! What the hell?! When did we become Jimmy Buffet fans?! Really, what the fuck?! "As their referred to in the DSM-IV"? What's that supposed to mean?

Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, which is on the fourth edition now.  And Parrotheads I think is supposed to just be a nonsensical reference to another fanbase (and more specifically, the idea that "Matt Tobey" - I think there's a difference between him as a person and the pseudo character he sort of "plays" in his posts - would actually confuse the two fanbases).  I wouldn't think about it too hard...it's just a joke.

I haven't seen it elsewhere, except in cases where it's really just a link to the Tobey blog.  I think it's just an internal consistency within his character to confuse the two.  In any case, it doesn't bother me.  If someone actually called me a "parrothead" for being a Futurama fan, I'd just laugh.  They'd have to be a big enough fan of Futurama themselves to even know or bring up that reference.

FutureShock: These are the ACTUAL Parrotheads:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parrothead

The joke is merely that the blogger would confuse the two fanbases.  Nothing more.

soy: ...

I'm trying to suss out the reasoning behind that. I suppose some people might've seen mom using the eyePhone as part of her evil plot but lacked the wit to recognize it as a statement about apple? I wouldn't think there could be very many people that dense. Perhaps they're more numerous than I think, and they're also apple's core customer base?

Correct.

However, one poster on another website argued that it was because that when you watch the episode as a whole, you know that what they clearly mean is 'eyePhone', however, this distinction is not possible when it is only spoken (and not read).

It's not like apple would be affected if that joke was still in there. It's only a comedy show, and it was a parody of the iPhone.

Yeah, I'm sure removing that single line was not apple's intent when they mobilized their legal department.  But lawyers are not reasonable; once given the order to kill, they will take whatever they can get, however small or unreasonable, and call it a victory.

that actually makes alot of sense.  If you'd only seen that clip, and not the full episode, then you wouldn't know that there was a parody.  Youd think Mom was saying 'Iphone', not 'eyephone'.  Its still stupid that that's enough for Comedy Central to start cutting out lines, though.

They show on Sky One over here. I was reading an article the other day on the internet saying Sky one still haven't made up their minds up yet whether they will be showing the new episodes or not. I just wish they'd stop showing stupid shows like are you smarter than a 10 year old and other such crap that no one watches. Again, we will have to see them months late here in the UK, but not me, because I will just stream them from the internet.

Between them, SkyTV's 3426407 different channels show Futurama reruns a total of 23096356457 times per day; I'd be shocked if they didn't eventually show them.
