Everyone,

It was posted somewhere that Phil LaMarr said:
"Let the powers-that-be know how you, the people who gave the show ratings, bought DVDs, put money in their pockets and brought the show back from the dead, feel about the recasting."

I think we can do that by signing the petition and passing on the petition to as many sites as you can .....

http://www.petitiononline.com/futura13/petition.html

Even if you don't think we need something like this, do it just in case we need to show "The powers that be" we want the original voices or they will lose our support!!!!!!

Thanks,
Tommy

In general, I never really believe petitions work.  I admire the spirit, no doubt, but what brought Futurama back in the first place was never petitions, it was DVD sales and high syndication ratings.

I'd argue that it is impossible to address the current issue in DVD sales or high syndication ratings.  Alternatively, only in the opposite, that is, refusing to watch it and not buying the DVDs.  Which we have already made pretty damn clear.

But I will agree that the fact that the fans brought the show back - twice - we are sort of inclined to some sort of power.  Maybe it's a petition, maybe it's an email ring, maybe it's rioting at the Comic-Con panel, maybe it's just expressing our discontent on the Internet.

Hell, it might be the combination of all four.  I think people are hearing the discontent.  Even over at Fox and Comedy Central.  Hell, even the British version of Comedy Central made a news article about it!

It's also one of the main entertainment news stories on the BBC
