Since Randi's not around, I guess I'll make some salutations to the noob. Welcome to PEEL, Pachyderme. Look around a little, it's a big place. And check out [wikipeelia]WikiPEELia[/wikipeelia], there's a lot of knowledge and some FAQs there to help you out in your noobdom.

Holdiay spcieal is well special :P I just dont understand how they made such a horrible ep! Same seuquence of events in every part

It had a tough act to follow after the previous two top notch Xmas eps from the original run, but it failed so tremendously that not only does it not deserve to be cited alongside those two; it doesn't even deserve the Futurama name. I almost feel dirty owning it on DVD. Utterly terrible episode, so bad I think a certain Calculon line would sum it up best...
I know I do! I don't think I've watched the episode twice, not even sure if I've watched it with the commentary yet either. Now that makes me feel dirty.

I was thinking more along the lines of this one:

That was so terrible, I think you gave me cancer!...

No, you don't want to sit too near Macaulay Culkin now that he's had puberty installed. It was my fault, on this rare occasion I underestimated you, I'll try not to let it happen again :(...

Haha, the cancer line is so good! Makes me sad that some of the new eps don't have as funny of one liners like the old seasons.

I'm sure Michelle could serve a purpose in the show as the bitch ex-girlfriend we love to hate, but as long as the rest of the episode isn't dragged down because of it. It seems somewhat coincidental that The Cryonic Woman went from a really decent episode to a train wreck soon after she arrived. Perhaps this was more down to the storyline than her character, but her character fuelled the storyline. I guess we'd have to see more of her to know for sure, but I wouldn't mind not seeing her again let's put it that way...

Well, I think she suits perfectly as long as that is her role. And Sarah Silverman acts awesomely as a pain-in-the-ass girlfriend.

Hi all, first time poster, so I guess this is my first post :D

Welcome!

Sarah Silverman is incredibly annoying in most of the roles I've seen her in. I think she must just enjoy playing the irritating bitch characters.

I'm sure she does. She's excellent at it though (though I don't know if it's her being herself, or if she's merely good at acting).

If it's acting, then she's too good at it. I really hated Michelle... and I really hated the episode. But it's not all her fault. There were other flaws with it, not least continuity discrepancies and asinine fuckery with respect to the way things should work in-universe. It felt like it had been written specifically to piss me off, to be honest. Michelle's character was just the push over the edge of the precipice.

I think she was supposed to be annoying. I'm pretty sure the writers hate her too.

Duh.

Who honestly believes that Michelle was ever meant to be likeable? The only reason Fry ever liked her was that he was desperate, and even he couldn't stand her.

Well at least she prompted Fry to say one of my favorite quotes of his: "Michelle, I don't regret this, but I both rue and lament it." I love how he has to use 2 synonyms to compensate for the one word.

And alright! I'm a delivery boy!

Keep spamming posting.

All this liking of "bad" episodes, I think "That's Lobstertainment" is quite funny.  The Harold Zoid/Harold Lloyd character is a bit drab, but the jokes are good.  Plus Bender:
* I can guarantee you anything you want.
* Now you know why I used the qualifier "practically."
* And now to present the award for Best Actor, a grotesque, stinking lobster.

I'm going to watch it right now.

I love Thats Lobstertainment. Harold Zoid is hilarious! And I love Benders plot in the ep, Calculons one of my fav characters, so you know I loved it!

Haha, the cancer line is so good! Makes me sad that some of the new eps don't have as funny of one liners like the old seasons.

In the new episodes' defense, there were 72 original episodes and we've only seen 13 new episodes (or 29 if you count the 16 episodes that make up the movies/Season 5).

As for The Cryonic Woman: I'm pretty sure I've already said this a few times but I don't really hate it. It's not a great episode but the first act with the stuff at Applied Cryogenics saves it for me.

And I've said this before as well but I think That's Lobstertainment is actually somewhat underrated. Again, it's not the best episode but it definitely has its moments.

Trelane, I dont like you much. Thats Lobstertainment is a fantastic episode! Underrated, just like Jezzem said. Not my favorite, but it has some great lines, especially from Harold.

And yeah, I guess you have a point about the new eps, Jezzem, but I miss the old seasons' humor. Although The Prisoner of Benda has some great one liners!

I find that not many like that episode or The Cryonic Woman, Pachyderme. I attribute it to the lack of a Fry/Leela storyline and Zoidberg having to be "on" the whole episode. There are some great moments, like the barbecuing pirate (what? hahaha) but in general I didn't find the storyline as compelling as say, Roswell That Ends Well or The Late Philip J. Fry.

I'll take a good old fashioned laugh fest over a love story any day. Cant stand the Fry/Leela story at all! It drags down the eps and the humor so much. But I don't really like The Cryonic Woman either, cant stand Michelle. Pauly Shore I can deal with.

Yeah, but wouldn't TL have to be funny to begin with? :p

I love the sweet Fry/Leela storylines like in Time Keeps on Slippin and The Late Philip J. Fry. We have many shippers here actually, lol. I don't claim to be of any group but I do enjoy the sweet storylines...I didn't think The Cryonic Woman was as bad as everyone said. The storylines involving Leela's parents always dragged it down for me, imo.

I guess that's up to each individual to decide. I don't think you've spammed either. The ranks (crustacean, delivery boy, professor, et cetera) come from the number of posts you've made.

Second. The new episodes have had pretty funny one-liners, at more or less the same rate as in the original seasons.

I also like the Bender's from 6ACV02, "I haven't felt much of anything since my hamster died." But then again I know that there are a bunch of people on this forum who really hated that line for some reason.

Nibbler in 6ACV08: "If I have to get cute it's gonna get ugly."

Fry in 6ACV05: "Just because I'm stupider than them they think they're smarter than me."

The Professor in 6ACV07, concerning the meaning of life: "Probably some hogwash about the human spirit."

And who can forget, of 6ACV08: "The horse says: Doctorate denied."

In short, plenty of good one-liners.

edit: I could go on, and I will.

Preacherbot in 6ACV04: "The only lies worth believing are the ones in the Bible."
