I think Zoidberg forgave him since he cut off his legs and head after he placed Fry's arm on the wrong side.

Fry: "Hey, wait! I'm having one of those things. You know, a headache with pictures?"

Leela: "An idea?"

Fry: "Ugh, ugh!!"

Classic Fry.

Not one of my favourites, too much Cubert for my liking.

It is worth a watch though, the entire audition sequence was golden but I felt it tailed off around the time that Bender started to protest against himself. The odd good line after that but not enough to make this more than a just above average episode.

Plus Fry's barely involved which is a shame, the more prominent Fry is in an episode the better the episode tends to be for my money. I don't know if anyone else has noticed this but the weaker episodes almost always have Fry as a background character for that particular episode. I can't think of any lesser episodes where Fry has a decent role to play.

The sequence where Dwight, Cubert and Tinny Tim walk past Fry in the Bender masks is great.

I've always loved that line.

IGN gave the next movie (I temporarily forget what it's called) a 5 out of 10. :(
That isn't very good.

Curious Gorge makes a good point about plots that marginalize Fry suffering for it. As a story, this one isn't so strong, but as 20 minutes of hilarity, it is superb - especially the execubots.

I noticed that diminished-Fry aspect with Bend Her the first couple of times I saw it. But that episode grew on me, the way most of them did...

As for this one, the Calculon quote had to be one of my top 13.4 or so lines out of all, when I was originally watching the eps..  and regarding Bender protesting against himself, that was a large part of the whole point of the episode.
Exposing the hypocrisies inherent in censorship, etc.

Of course, however despite the accurate sentiment in entertainment terms the episode dipped noticeably from that point on.

Don't get me wrong, this is a decent episode but considering how brilliant Season Four was as a whole (at least in my opinion) this was definitely one of the weaker ones.

"Professor! Lava! Hot!"

"Oh sure, smash the smart guy's machine."

Farnsworth is awesome in this one. And I particularly love what is perhaps the most random line from Bender ever: "That's the least appetizing calzone I've ever seen."

I think this episode is sad in a good way. Sure, Fry missed out on getting his dog back because of a wrong assumption about how he spent the next 12 years, but that he waited is so sweet and dog-like as to give you a couple of happy tears in with all sad ones.

The first time I watched this episode I started getting sad as soon as Fry told Seymour to "wait here" because you know that he's gonna wait there, he's Fry's dog... Where's Seymour_My_Hero? Hasn't she been waiting for this one?

I love how Fry is so obsessed with getting stuff ready for his dog that he completely misses Leela and Amy wrestling.

i found out this episode is based on a true story when i went to Scotland. When a man died his dog stayed by his grave for a number of years (I forgot how long)

then some lady ruined it for me by saying the dog stood by the wrong grave. they got a statue with the story outside of a bar named after him

i think the dogs name was bobby
