At one point in the original 4 series, Bender has a line that is something like "That dog won't hunt, monsenior/monsignor/mon sig something!"

I can't remember which episode he says it in, but I'm sure you all know it.

What I want to know is - is it a quote or a reference to something? If so what?

THANK YOU.

It's a fry quote from war is the H word, "Fry: Full price for gum? That dog won't hunt, monsignor." its kind of a cliche
1. When something does not fulfill it's intended purpose.
2. That plan or scheme will fail.
