- The Simpsons movie had a more "fluent" plot than the Futurama movies.
But they were Direct-to-DVD. Simpsons was theatrical.

On one hand I would love them to make a real theatrical Futurama movie, one designed to be seen a whole and as a whole only, not broken up into four separate eps for TV broadcast. On the other hand, if a theatrical Futurama movie is the result of the end of the show, I can wait a very long time for it!...

They're both pretty sucky now.
Get out.
I feel the same. Futurama's still great and all but I don't think they're into the swing of things at the moment

Yes, and you also wanted to know how much they cost and how long they took to download...

Did I want to know that?!
Well, it gets rid of the wait for you.
Well I don't have iTunes and you saying that is like me saying. I'm eating crisps right now. Yum.

You know what, I never even looked at that since when I voted ages ago. I just assumed everyone here had voted for Futurama! ... Apparently not ...

I think I'll play along, too: 1) Futurama (shocker, huh? ) 2) South Park 3) Family Guy 4) The Simpsons 5) Beavis and Butthead OK so my list is small and only has five shows. But I don't really watch much television anyway.

I'm pretty much in your guys' camp, but I do occasionally watch other shows. This is roughly in order of frequency, rather than likability. 1. Futurama . . . . 2. American Dad . 3. Family Guy . . . . 4. Cowboy Bebop/Ghost in the Shell/Bleach/Venture Brothers/etc. . . 5. Simpsons

Step aside kids, Binder is here.
I voted The Simpsons in a Futurama forum. Bawhawhaw!
My reasoning: despite the many so-so to poor years of Simpsons 'sodes, there are far more fantastic episodes of The Simpsons than there are Futurama. HOWEVER, Futurama did start out at a quality that matches The Simpsons at their peak. First two seasons of The Simpsons were great, but nowhere near as good as The Simpsons seasons 3-9. That's seven great seasons right there, with the first two having a fair share of greats, and Simpsons seasons 10+ having a number of good and great episodes (though also a number of bad ones).
So, in terms of sheer numbers, Simpsons wins. But, Futurama was solid from premiere til now, with only a few moments of dipping quality (a few season 3/4 episodes and the DVD movie BWABB were not as good as the best Futurama).
Also, I do love how rich Springfield is. Thanks to the near 500 episodes, we have a fully functioning town with a massive number of characters and locations. Futurama, meanwhile, is still constructing New New York and expanding on secondary characters. I could imagine walking around Springfield, New New York... not so much (though it's getting close).
Ooh ooh! Can I make a list too? My favorite animated shows at the moment:
1. The Simpsons
2. Futurama - a very close second, a near tie with first.
3. The Venture Bros. - I love the episodic nature of the series, makes it very fun to follow. Also, the writing is of course brilliant and the mix of Johnny Quest, DC comics heroes and James Bond-like antics makes for great parodies, yet creates a unique and original universe for the show to take place in.
4. Star Wars The Clone Wars - I'm a Star Wars fan, but not so much a fan of the expanded universe (books, video games, etc). So I love that this series is far closer to the movies in terms of characters AND continuity.
5. Home Movies - Great humor told at a relaxed pace. Love the "real world" pacing of the dialogue. Also, Coach McGurk. 'Nuff said. 6. Tom Goes to the Mayor - Tim and Eric are polarizing, but thats why I love them. This show, I think, is far easier for the average viewer to get into. Like The Simpsons, it creates this bizarre Anytown, U.S.A. though TGTTM focuses more on town pride, community groups, local businesses, franchise restaurants, self-published newsletters and powerpoint presentations.
7. Space Ghost Coast to Coast - The ghost host with the most, huge respect for SG.
8. Aqua Teen Hunger Force - Despite the dip in quality, I love this series. The first four seasons are awesome. 9. Frisky Dingo - Under appreciated and hilarious. An interesting take on modern suer heroes and super villains. The writing is terrific. Shame it didn't get a third season...
10. Archer - ...however, Archer is the closest to a third season of Frisky Dingo. Again, solid writing.
Oh, look at that, no more numbers! I reached my limit. Sorry Seth MacFarlane and Matt & Trey. Family Guy spoiled itself. Pre-cancellation I enjoyed it, but when they came back Seth showed his true colors (that he is a talented, but very lazy man). Likable characters were kicked to the curb and he recycled the Family Guy template (which is just The Simpsons template) by creating American Dad and Cleveland. Not a fan anymore. :P
As for South Park, I do like it but not as much as my top ten. Though I do like it more than pre-cancellation Family Guy. South Park would probably make my top twenty.

The First Ten Seasons of Simpsons are better than Futurama, but Futurama beats the crap out of anything past Season Ten.
