No TV DVD movie had a worse 20 minutes of buildup than Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story. The first 20 minutes had almost nothing to do with the overall plot! Then again, Family Guy rarely has anything to do with "plot".

Nobody's posted "Bender's Game" online yet. I've been checking daily for it.

I must have like 10 RSS feeds trying to keep an eye out for it, it took almost a month from screeners -> online though last time :(

I'm sure there must have been a day when people got impatient about when they could go to the store to buy something after it came out, like the the next weekend or something. But I have to say getting impatient about something before its even here is more fun. I love the internet.

I think I'll probably be able to wait until it's released until I watch it...well, possibly anyway.

The only one I watched online before it was released was BBS but that was mainly because the UK release date was many months after the American release for some bizarre reason (anyone know why that was by the way?) and I just couldn't wait. This time however Europe get it slightly earlier than everyone else so there won't be as much reason to scour the internet looking for a viewing link.

That said if it turns out that ITWGY is released in America a significant amount of time before it comes to Europe I'll probably watch that online too...I'm incredibly impatient.

I'll be waiting until release day, it'll be ok as lots of things are coming out between now and then, and I already have the other two Futurama movies on DVD. I haven't downloaded any Futurama since 2003 in the old kazaa days...

I was really introduced to Futurama last year in rez off DC++. My room-mate was going through all the cartoons on the network and suggested I check it out... I would have never been exposed if I hadn't downloaded it. I bought all the seasons and BBS soon as I got home, and bought BWABB day it came out even after dl'ing it. Plus some $100+ in figures / posters / comics (those I just DL because their so damn hard to find, but buy them when I can). I'm a firm believer in supporting content you enjoy! epically when it comes to the potential future of the show.

It's just I'm a wildly impatient person. Plus it is handy to just have a hard drive copy so I don't have to bring the DVD's with me to university.

Actually I probably shouldn't wait till release day, exams start pretty much the same time as the movie is officially released  :laff: Can't study when there is Futurama to be watched!  :D

20 mins build-up, this is the problem with movies designed to be split into 20ish minute chunks for TV I suppose...

Better than the 44 minute build up of BWABB

That's the best way to look at aknightofni.  Sure... we download stuff, but we actually care enough to support the show, but we want to have computer copies too... and we're impatient.

I remember waiting in a chatroom (#futuramachat) downloading episodes the same day they aired.  It was always like a release party in there.

I need to rebuy a copy of season 4 now that I think about it.

Just let me know what the deal with the collar around Leela's neck is about.

I can't think of anybody brave enough to place such a thing around her neck.  Stupid would be the word.  That equals Fry.  Insane equals Farnsworth.

What,

I got volumes 3 and 4 for the same price as one set was going for at B&N.

No shipping costs, I can enjoy it same day.

This isn't the first that I've heard of the first 22 minutes being slow to build up to the rest of the movie, does it flow well enough to be it's own episode and be understandable/enjoyable?

Anyway, Im a Trek geek and have never played D&D - will it appeal to the rest of us never got into the D&D scene?  (This isn't a trick question - Futurama is nortorious for making "in" jokes that make sense to people with a background to the thing being joked.)

Anyway, the two minute trailer makes it appear to be a fun-filled romp.  I shall wait my turn as Amazon delivers my copy.  Since it's being released on Nov. 4, that's election day for us in the USA, I'm sure I'll get it on Wednesday the 5th.  I'm sure that by then there'll be enough stuff placed on the boards to really spoil the movie.

Thanks for the non-spoiler spoiler.

And I like being spoiled - I'll watch ITWGY along with the same first watching.

And once again I'll say, I think that DXC and Groening should give you (mArc) a huge hug for all the business that your website and message board has given them.

The first 22 minutes aren't really slow. They just don't make obvious what the rest is about. I don't think that any of the movie segments so far would have been really great episodes on their own. If they were, they'd probably not be good for the movie.

I haven't played D&D really and was fine. There are some other fantasy reference in there that are more important to "getting it". But the references don't target obscure fantasy trivia like, say, Xena's girlfriend's name or something.

edit: I don't really drink "drinks". Maybe apple juice? ;)

I know I've been one of the most vocal dissenters of the first DVD.  It was a compromise that had to be made to get the contract for the four DVD's but trying to juggle making a 90 minute movie yet to be able to get four 22 minute episodes has to really damage the timing.

Oh come on. we know there's a black cloak buried wayyy deep in your closet. (That's a joke.)

I shall have to wait and see if my fantasy pop-culture background is sufficient to enjoy/understand this movie.

Your liver will thank you in 20+ years.  Mine's already crying "Uncle".  Apple juice?  blechhhh.  Just give me good old Welch's Grape Juice any day.

And I guess you're not going to let me know about the collar on Leela...

(I'll get my own collar.  With Blackjack.  and hookers.  lots of hookers.)

I just read the review.  The first 22 minutes are supposed to be extended opening credits from what I saw.  I, myself would like to know about Leela's collar.   It looks like it's going to be really good.  Oh, and does anyone know if Fry is supposed to turn into a dragon like it seemed on the Bender's game trailer?

The more I read about Bender's Game, the more I want to see it. This time I'm going to try and wait until it comes out on DVD to watch it, instead of watching on the internet first. I did that with BWABB and I wished that i could've waited to watch it when it came on DVD.
Anyways, I'm looking forward to seeing ITWGY the most!

Can't wait to see the movie, the reviews are very good.
But I'm not going to see the ITWGY preview, I don't want to know anything before I see the movie, I want the complete surprise.

The internet is really dropping the ball here. It comes out a month today and I haven't seen it!

Trying to string my anxious waiting into smaller waiting segments seemed to help. But I'm running out of things between now and release, Iron Man DVD was last week, University Engineering jacket too, new comics coming up though! Oh and midterms... right...

I think I'll try my best to stay away from ITWGY until I have the box in my hands.

Is it that they only go backwards, or only one way in time? they only ever showed  it going backwards but the book about the time sphere was copyrighted from the year 4000 or so iirc

Biggest indication time travel is not possible: Nobody in the entire history of the rest of existence has come to visit us.

That or they are purposely avoiding something terrible that's about to happen. uh oh.

I'm not sure why, but I'm finding the wait pretty easy for this movie. The last one was hell to wait for, but now I'm more casual about it. I'll still be picking it up on release day though...
