We all know that good old Groening is the great head that started both Futurama and The Simpsons. And this have also shown up from time to time...

Take the mayor of New New York in Futurama, for example, his voice and behavior reminds me alot of the mayor of Springfield in The Simpsons.

So now I'm asking if any of know has noticed the same thing. Ever seen something in Futurama that remind you of the Simpsons, or vice versa??

B'uh? They're completely different characters. Quimby's based on Ted Kennedy, and Poopenmeyer's baed on Rudy Giuliani.

Now, you want similar characters... try Cubert and Martin Prince, or Lionel Hutz and the Hyperchicken.

I agree with Kryten. There are some similar characters, but I don't see the connection between Mayor Quimby and Mayor Poopenmeyer(aside from the fact that they are both mayors). A better example would be Fat Tony vs. the robot mafia, or Krusty vs. Calculon.

Only a little?

I have to admit, I am reminded by each of the characters in Futurama of a character/s in the Simpsons.

What they need to do is if Futurama is canned for good, have all the Futurama characters move to Springfield. Sure there will be hundreds of characters now and the plots will cross paths but at least we will still see Fry, Leela and Bender on the air.

Uh, would the Simpsons still be there in the year 3000?

Don't forget, Simpsons is just a TV show but Futurama is real.   ;)

Unless the professor made a TV portal machine that makes you enter any TV show. But he forgot to make a way back out so they stay stuck on The Simpsons.

What matters would OFF discuss if they were still on the air in 3000? More importantly, will we have the artists' heads in jars to do the same voices? We can bring Phil Hartman back.

I read something about a gag in which The Simpsons is still on the air in the year 3000, but fans on the internet have been complaining that the last 400 years haven't been as good.

They're family in the sense that they both came from the same wonderful and talented father.

And some artists and writers came from the Simpsons originally.
