I want to be as discrete with spoilage as possible, but no, Colleen and Yivo are not one and the same (at first...).

Common complaint in reviews was that main story´s end is somehow anticlimatic. What do you think ybout that? Thanks.

Seems lots of people have trouble taking Leela for her word when she says she isn't in love with Fry. Look on the bright side. She doesn't use Fry's feelings for her to manipulate and take advantage of him. The show seems to have rolled back to the first couple of seasons with Fry having encounters with various future babes and not all knotted up with the Leela thing.

Anticlimatic? Have to see it to say, sometimes reviewers/critics don't have the same insight as fans. I just hope it's a good, funny show. After all it's the 2nd of 4 DVD movies that are also 4 1/2-hour cartoon episodes. Not sure how much of a climax they should be looking for. Maybe DVD-4 ties all 4 DVDs together, then again maybe it's not ment to. Be nicer to think there will be DVDs 5-8, 9-12, etc.

Well, according to DXC, this cycle of breaking with Leela will be hugely referenced in the last movie.

There's no huge cliffhanger like with BBS, but I didn't find it anticlimactic. There's plenty of swashbuckling action (arrrrr!) and grand visuals on display. Again, I don't want to get into fine details. Although if anyone wants a few screencaps to whet their appetites, just PM me.  :)

If I remember correctly he said the Fry/Leela story arc would be "resolved". Now resolved can mean alot of things but I personal will take it to be a good thing until I'm proven otherwise. As I've said on numerous occasions before.

The fourth DVD will have Leela and Amy becoming a married Lesbian couple.  That will be topped with a triple-marriage ceremony of Bender and Fry being married as a Robosexual couple and Farnsworth and Mom getting hitched also.

The fans will be so disgusted that Futurama will die a merciful death.

About the lack of cliffhanger, I think it's rather ironic that the reviewers would complain about it. I mean it's the cliffhanger from BBS which has made the wait for BWABB so damned unbearable in the first place.

It wasn´t just lack of cliffhanger, they talked about bad final act in general.

Lack of cliffhanger, or "tie in" seems to be the biggest part of the complaint from what I've read. Gauging from what Nastyinthepasty said however, the critics probably just called the end of BWABB anti-climactic not because it actually was, but because the end of BBS had several climactic twists of its own and they were hoping for the same with BWABB.

I don't think I'd mind that movie. Fry/Bender is one of my pathetic fantasies.

I actually saw a Bender/Fry slash fic on the net.  Leela, unable to deal with the fact that her personal lapdog (Fry) was no longer around to give her an ego-boost found that she and Amy had "feelings" for each other.  Both couples got married (Fry/Bender and Leela/Amy) and all actually lived in one of Amy's many apartments.  The four had an "Open" marriage and no questions were asked if any of the combination "got together".  The scene of Leela commenting on wanting to experience Bender's "Uterus Wrench" made me spit a mouthful of Famous Grouse Scotch on the monitor's screen.

Yes, it was as bad as it was brilliant.  No, I didn't write it.

Now onward and upward - as much as I hated BBS, I'm getting a good feeling about BWABBs.  If the DVD comes with a trailer for Bender's Score, then that may be the reason BWABBs didn't have a dove-in cliffhanger for the next movie.

And I promise everybody that I won't hold BBS against BWABBs anymore than I held The Cryonic Woman (the very worst episode of the series, in my opinion) against any other episode.

I remember reading this god-awful fanfiction where Fry was a disgusting drunk and Leela was having an affair. Fry and Bender got together at the end on a whim, and Bender wrote Fry some limericks.

It was really sad how that was so well written but disgustingly out of character.

Ah, Leela's Affair, written by Sophie Fenwick over at FM/TLZ.

Believe me, the fic that I read was much, much worse, but at least the characters were somewhat "In Character".  Except for the "Bender's Uterus Wrench" thing.   :hmpf:

So I take it there's no references to Lars in the next movie? That's really disappointing, and makes his existance have no purpose...I know not everyone liked him, but I thought he was a cool dude and seemed to have a MAJOR impact on Leela...guess not. On the bright side maybe Fryrish is reset now as well...

They never should have touched that episode in the first place....

I actually really liked Lars.  I went in desperately wanting to hate him, being the desperate F/L shipper I was at the time, but over the course of the movie I couldn't help but adore him (I mean, finally, Leela dates a guy that doesn't treat her like crap, or the flavor of the month), and then when I finally caught on to the twist it was ridiculously obvious why I adored him.    :p

I don't think the writers are going to forget about him, but at the same time there's really no reason to bring him up again.  His story's been told.  I also doubt the retcons will be themselves retconned... at least not in this movie.  If they're going to reverse any major changes they've made, they'll probably do it in the last movie.

ETA: "Uterus wrench"?!  *shudders*

Well, as for me, I've been reviewing DVDs for a website for the past year. The DVD companies get some publicity, I get to keep the screeners, and everybody's happy.   :)

Speaking of which...ladies and gentlemen...my review of Futurama: The Beast With A Billion Backs (very light on spoilers. Most of the information contained within can be gleaned from the previously-released trailers):

I can't either, thanks to that major cliffhanger at the end of BBS. Of course, I'd rather it not be leaked so that people don't pirate it, and deal with the wait, than see people not buy it because they can watch it for free.
