The fourth was a reference to the Kraken from Pirates of the Caribbean. Bender was Jack at the end of the second movie. That review was brutal and, in my opinion, uncalled for. I laughed out loud many times during BWABB. Sometimes I laughed so much that I had to stop and rewind it because I laughed over dialogue. Sure, BWABB isn't as thought-provoking as BBS, but it was more laugh-out-loud funny, and the humor and plot felt more like classic Futurama than BBS's plot.

This disappointed me. I guess, I just didn't like the story. I get the whole mockery of Christianity, however it still bored me. But it had its moments like the Death Ball thing, Kwala out the window, Bender's son, Zapp hooking up with Amy, and the standard break up text. All those things made me laugh, but did they really have to KILL Kif? Yeah it was funny, but Futurama becomes mediocre without (Zapp + Kif) IMO. Wack overall. I guess I'm too simple and religious to get this movie.

After the sheer mind-blowing plot of Bender's Big Score, this was just a major disappointment to me. When the funniest line in your movie is "My leg feels funny," you know you've got problems. Yes, it had some clever observations to make, but I just don't think it warranted an entire movie. The structure was, once again, all over the place, and the ending was terrible. Let's hope this is the weakest of the 4 DVD movies. C

I had somebody tell me last week in an e-mail that the word "extremist" came to mind when I was lashing out and trashing BBS. Compared to this guy, I'm like Roger Ebert giving a "Thumbs Up".

Thought-provoking as having to think when watching it. BBS's time anti-paradox paradoxes made you confused and made you watch it again while thinking about the timeline. BWABB has some deeper themes that aren't present in BBS, specifically religion and relationships. In that way, yes, BWABB was more thought-provoking. The big discussion with BBS was the time paradoxes and such; the big discussion with BWABB will be the themes. And loving the tenticle.

Oh, aye, that much is true, Capitan. Anyway, I didn't find as much commentary on religion in it as I've seen mentioned. Most of the religion-related content was outright parody; it was too obvious to have an intriguing amount of depth. The love, sex, and modern relationship aspects were quite deep though, every time I've gone over the story in my head I've noticed a different manner in which it can be interpreted. I'll have to watch it again when it comes out before I seriously declare myself to be of any one opinion or others. As well as writing my official review, which will quite likely be able to be published in one volume this time around.

I thought the movie was ok: The good: Amy's and Kif's fun fun roo/Wedding (I think that what it called) Bender has a son!!! Oh my god I wanted to know more about it. If it was his first son then He might have another robot child? Robot Devil! Missed him Good to see some guest characters around. Farsworth teams up with Worthstorm BENDER BENDER BEDNER The not so good: Kif's death Fry's Girlfriend Colleen and her 5 boyfriends. Zapp slept with Amy. Oh Your God Kif and Amy's awkward relationship after kif comes back from the dead and finds out about Zapp and Amy Where is the romance between Fry and Leela I think there many be some more I missed out. I need to watch it again

On Shark's note: I liked, "You are now my official stalker," more than that line, but that scene as a whole was very funny. On Juliet's bads: Kif dying wasn't a problem. I saw him coming back a mile away. And I think the Fry/Leela's been mentioned in this thread

It would have added extra empathy for Amy, and extra suspense as to weither or not she'd keep seeing Zapp after...well, you know. As it was, I suspected pretty mch that Kif would be back, considering how many jokes thay made about his "death".

Don't worry...I found it! I have to say this movie was OK. Deathball was funny and so was that Koala out the window. I was like "OMG! DONT HURT THE KOALA!" when he picked up the koala I didn't like the explanation for how Kif came back to life. It seemed too out of place. Finally, the ending didn't leave me wanting more, like BBS did. Overall, C+

Loved it and preferred it to BBS, mainly because of the jokes and one liners. As i think someone said the general thing is if you liked/loved BBS you won't like it and if you didn't you will. Can't wait to hear the commentary though, it's like another movie for me. Bring on 24th!

Sure, there was time travel, but the Futurama team made time travel so simple that most major complications occurred within the same hour and all time travel was paradox-free.

I realy liked this.. certain sick jokes like bender's son, and the koala going thud were brilliant. Also like the freaky epic religious themes, and the cover art is amazing. Overall, I think it flowed better as a story than BBS, which really seemed like 4 episodes clipped together. I still think the plot of these movies is really suffering from having to also work as 4 seperate episodes... you keep thinking the film's about to end when it's really just a conclusion to one of the episodes. The rapid pace of futurama is more suited to 20 minutes, turning it into a film leaves you with too much to keep track of, and never gives the viewer a break.

This is probably why the movies have come under such heavy fire from the critics, because they are comparing them to the fast paced nature of the series and possibly even a favourite episode which is an unfair approach I would say. If anyone recalls Fawlty Towers, John Cleese and Connie Booth were approached with the idea of writing a Fawlty Towers movie but refused because the farcical nature of the show wouldn't work over 90 minutes. I think we have a similar problem with the Futurama movies. Although having said that I still think both films are fantastic. And if you cant cope with 90 minutes in one go there's always the pause button.

Yes he does!
I must say, I DID enjoy the movie. Probably more the BBS, but I just thought the ending didn't make me want to see the next movie as much as BBS made me want to see this movie.
I think I'm changing my rating of it now since I've seen it at least 5 times now.
I'd say about a B+

I did a quick google search for "Beast With A Billion Backs torrent," it shouldn't be too hard to find BUT BUY THE DAMN DVD EVEN IF YOU DO THAT. No sales = no more Futurama after these four movies ever.
I resisted downloading it, though, so I can watch it for the first time with my wife. I watched BBS on a torrent prior to buying it. Knowing what was going to happen coupled with my disappointment in that particular episode really made the experience less. I want to be genuinely amused, surprised, annoyed or happy the way you often only are the first time with my wife. NO TAKING THAT OUT OF CONTEXT. =)
