Can understand why people are disapointed about Seth McFarlane doing a voice for the next Futurama movie.  I only like Seth for American Dad, I'm not too keen on Family Guy.   It's good to know that BG is the #6 best selling DVD right now!

I dont think its a bad thing if Seth McFarlane is doing a voice in the new movie, I think McFarlane is a good guy,  its just his family guy crew sucks and his writters suck too.

hey look what i found a brief segment of what the film is about!!

All the other galaxies will be green with envy! In this all-new Futurama extravaganza, mankind stands on the brink of a wondrous new Green Age. But ancient forces of darkness, three years older than time itself, have returned to wreak destruction. Even more shocking: Bender's in love with a married fembot, and Leela's on the run from the law – Zapp Brannigan's law! Fry is the last hope of the universe... so if you're in the universe, you might want to think about going somewhere else. Could this be the end of the Planet Express crew forever? Say it ain't so, meatbag! Off we go, Into the Wild Green Yonder!

I take it that'll be what's written on the back of the box? I'd imagine so anyway...unless you just made that up.

Sounds like Fry's due to be the saviour again at any rate, I just hope he gets some credit this time...

Wonder when the cover art will be revealed?

There is very little about this that is not full of either: awesome, win, or whatever it is legends are made of.

It sounds like it will be a great continuation from BG, with the new awesome clean fuel replacing dark matter (green age), then all hell breaks loose!

no, he didn't make it up.  It's from the official press release.  It looks like the brainspawn will be back (unless there's some other evil force that predates the universe that only Fry is able to defeat).  Maybe the destruction of the dark matter won't be ignored in ITWGY then, since the title now seems to refer to a 'new green age'.

Do something to keep you occupied in the mean time.

I'm using the gap to watch all the episodes in order...spacing it out a bit so I end up watching about 4/5 eps a week. Brannigan Begin Again is next in line.

Bit of a nerdy thing to do but very enjoyable...haven't seen some episodes in years and it's been good to revisit them.

If all goes to plan I should finish this marathon by watching Bender's Game on the 18th of Feb..and then onto the big one.

Again interesting how, like the trailer, it tends to raise more questions than it provides answers. In fact, this film sounds like it's going to be crammed full of incident.

Just look at what we already know :-

- Environmental issues are going to play a part in the plot.

- Golf will possibly play at least a small part.

- Fry and Bender appear to be involved in a TV show involving gambling at some point. I'm presuming it's a show of some kind because of what looks like an audience present.

- Ancient battle that's being going on for near eternity. Possibly between the sexes, possibly between the brainspawn and just about everyone else...or possibly even both.

- According to an interview with Matt Groening it's essentially going to be about the potential end of the universe.

- Bender falls for a married Fembot, can't say I saw that one coming.

- The Fry/Leela story arc is going to play a prominent role and will probably be the main underlying focus of the movie.

- Fry looks set to save the universe again but will "the other" be explained? Going by the previous point it looks as though it will.

- Fry dies at some point or at the very least appears to be dead.

- Planet Express appears doomed...well ok, I did see that one coming.

- Fry gets involved with some weird cult that wear stupid hats - not to mention apparently knowing some terrible secret.

- Leela gets on the wrong side of Brannigan's Law as well as forming what looks to be a radical feminist group with Amy and LaBarbara. The two are probably related.

- The Nimbus gets involved in a battle where just about every soldier dies...not to mention that Bender appears to be present for some reason.

- It ends on a sweet note that'll provide a very satisfactory end to Futurama should it be the last one ever.

I've probably missed some too so by all means add any that I've forgotten.

Sounds like it's going to be one hell of a film though, hopefully it'll be the "epic" that has been promised. Seems like they've got all the right ingredients, I just hope they know what to do with them.

Contrary to what I said last night the 23rd of February now seems like eons away again.

Is it just me or are we missing something about Bender?

If I can remember correctly, doesn't Bender's time travel in BBS have something to do with this film. (Like the metal he's made of is decaying or something like that?)

Ah yes, I forgot about that.

I'm sure there's a couple of others that I missed all of which will undoubtedly be pointed out soon enough.

There's probably going to be a few more plot hints coming to the surface as February approaches. Even before the other films there was always quite a focus on this one as it may well be the last Futurama ever...but now the other's have been released all eyes will be on this one.

Going to be a tantalising wait.

He's been hidden in the first 2 series. A Flight To Remember commentary tells you who he is.

I really want to know what that strange hat is all about. Obviously it seems to be something to do with the No.9  man lead cult...but what!?

Considering I've been looking forward to this film since the four movies were originally announced (around early 2007 i think, correct me if I'm wrong) there's not really that long left to wait relatively speaking...but still...so close yet so far...

And yes, on closer inspection they do look like golfing trousers.

I'm kinda skeptical because the one picture really does suggest a male vs female war, which isn't really what I was hoping for with the "epic ancient war thing". Then again I was skeptical before BBS came out too (which lead to some distrubingly ironic drawings on Archonix's part) so I'm going to try to learn from that and be more optimistic.

June 22, 2006 actually.

I only remember that because it was the same day I got my driver's license.

Looks like I've been waiting much longer than I thought then!

And yes, it does seem to suggest a battle of the sexes but I'd be surprised if that's the only conflict going on. It hardly fits the label of "ancient force" which is what's being banded about now.

BBS certainly had a more complicated plot that I had originally envisaged going by press releases and preview framegrabs, I imagine that it'll be the same with this one.

They seem to be making an effort to give very little away about ITWGY despite it's release date being under three months away.

Nah, once I read
I wasn't worried. Its going to be a side story sure, but not the main battle.

I think the women vs. men thing has to do with golf. The producers said something about how theres a giant gulf course or something like that in this movie. (And Amy's holding a putter)

Yes I had noticed that. I can't see it playing that much of a role in the movie though, it'll probably just serve as a bog standard pre-text to the main plot.
