No, Alexandra, you're not alone. It was so cute! Originally posted by Venus: Does that make me the only one who loved both of the songs? Cause i do. I even like the first one better than the second. To each their own i guess... I did, too. Not at first, but they grew on me. Especially poor Hermes' line: "I can't compete with tha-hat!/ He's Barbados Slim and I'm Jam-aican Fat!"

The TIE Fighter joke was one of my favorites and I love the fact that the chorus of the first song is "Cram it down and shut the hell up!" (Or some variation of that)

So, I finally got to see this movie. I must say, it was great. It was better than many of the latest futurama episodes. Was a bit random at some times though, but also had some very funny moments. The story was well written, a bit confusing at times, but it gets nicely wrapped up in the end. I liked the Hermes story aswell, quite funny. And I also liked that Fry was Lars. I got it when Lars said "You're the only woman I'll ever love" or what he said. I noticed that both voices was played by Billy West pretty early, but I didn't suspect anything right away. I mean, he has plenty of voices. Anyway, due to some randomness, a good movie.

So did the ending confuse anyone else?
Surely all the Benders have already all come out with their treasure earlier in the film etc... or am I just having a dumb 5 minutes...?

Ok, i just finished watching it, i rate it 9 1/2 out of ten 10. the space battles were realy cool, got lots of laughs out of the movie. The ending (the universe breaking up) sets the next movie up realy well. Its great to see new futurama!!

My DVD finally came from the US - review from seeing it earlier still stands.
One moot point - thought the DVD packaging is a bit flimsy, a plastic case would have been better, even if it was just inside the cardboard slip

It also seems to be specifically designed not to be very durable. I have doubts as to how long the case will last.

This is just like what happened to my car. They make things so cheap that they can't take any punishment. Recycling is all well and good but if you have to replace stuff every ten seconds it kinda defeats the purpose.

http://www.gamestooge.com/2007/11/29/review-futurama-benders-big-score-film/ and another review: http://www.dvdsleuth.com/Futurama1Review/ I don't think thesw reviews have been posted. It explores some of the faults that I had with the DVD. Not everybody agrees with these reviews. -------------- On a different note, my friend in Iraq, April called me last night. She was using an internet-linked phone so we talked for quite a while before we lost the connection. I send her "Care Packages" each month - something that Kelly has more influence with than I. As a matter of fact, Kelly and April are quite close as friends, so Kelly can figure what to send April to make her day brighter. (I'm the one who puts Jack Daniels in Listerine bottles and Vodka in Rubbing Alcohol bottles ) So the day the BBS DVD came out, I sent the DVD along with a portable DVD player (7" screen). The player has the advantage of being small and having a battery so she can take it with her if she has to relocate and wants to zone out during the trip. Even though she has a private room, she says it's barely big enough for her bed and footlocker so it being small is good. She finally got the package Monday, December 10th. Despite the fact that I sent her the first season of ER and first season of Futurama, the very first thing she watched was BBS. She said that half the surgical staff wanted to see it, so they took this small DVD player to the mess hall and watched the DVD two times that night. She said it was really nice to get something new from home and that BBS is a big hit where she's stationed. She says the DVD player is running constantly with other members of the surgical staff watching it while off-shift. The ER DVD package has yet to be opened - they see too much blood and gore everyday. It's nice to be able to sit back and watch some humorous entertainment and forget the day's work. So tonight I picked up Season 2 of Futurama and Season 7 of The Simpsons at Wal-Mart. Kelly just finished packing the "Care Package" which I will mail this morning when the post office opens. If any Futurama staff is lurking, just know that a certain Surgical Unit stuck in the middle of Iraq really appreciates Bender's Big Score. That should mean more than any glowing review. I know it means a lot to me that I was able to bring a little levity to the lives of people spending the holidays in a Godforsaken place halfway around the world.

Awesome story, Ralph. Good on you spreading the love.
My brother came home from school yesterday and he's already said how hilarious the movie is. He didn't even realize there was such a film, so he was pretty immune to the hype.

The sad part is, when this is all over and they release all four movies in a new season-style box, I'm going to buy them all over again. =)

Anyone notice the license plate number? 'NOCO2'.
