Archonix, I did a little more research online and found the Pierre Henry song.  I swear that the version the DJ played sounded different than the Pierre Henry song.  Guess the track he played before "Psyche Rock" was the track called "Unlistenable."  It was much more electronics intensive. 

You're right, they got several men to the moon using 60's technology, but getting those noises to do what you wanted was the trick.
