Hi everyone I'm a newb and I adore Futurama  :)

I was also wondering if you guys remember any serious or deep Futurama quotes?  I know they are out there but I just wish I had a collection of it.  Most quotes I find on sites are hilarious but I really wanted to capture the more "deep" parts of the show.

If anyone remembers anything really good, please post it.  It can be a funny quote, just as long as it's also meaningful.

"When you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all." Makes you think.

And welcome to PEEL!

Darn it, I was seriously about to post that same quote!

Thanks for the welcome.  :)

Professor Hubert Farnsworth: Nothing is impossible. Not if you can imagine it. That's what being is a scientist is all about.

Leela: You know, Fry? I don't care if you're not the most important person in the universe. It really makes me happy to see you right now.

Fry: Then I am the most important person in the universe.

Leela: Professor, please! Society's never gonna make any progress until we all learn to pretend to like each other.

Said in jest, but the writers do have a point there.

Worm: No creature would willingly make an idiot out of himself!

Fry: Obviously, you've never been in love!

And yes, my name is Kim ^_^

Btw, does anyone remember what Fry told Cubert near the end of his first episode? All I remember was how impressed I was at Fry - he was really telling him off and showed he cared a lot about the professor. I wish I could remember the quote I'm thinking about...

Hmm...What Fry told Cubert? *mind blank* I know Cubert started believing in what the professor had been trying to get him to realise earlier in the episode? Otherwise  :hmpf:

And off the top of my head -

Leela: You're lonely, and I'm lonely. But together, we're lonely together.

Fry: If those aren't tears of happiness, please stop crying.
:) Always thought that was sweet.

All I remember is that Fry got really angry at Cubert and started telling him off.  I think it was b/c they thought the professor wasn't going to live or something like that...and Fry started saying something along the lines of, "You never believed in the professor!" He said a whole long thing that I can't remember now. Oh, well.  :(

Here's another - Leela: How many planets could there be?

Zoidberg also has a few good ones that I don't recall...

I think your mind may have created its own scene over time. Although I haven't seen that episode as much as most others...

Zoidberg: But you still have Zoidberg. You all still have Zoidberg!

Little Farnsworth: Thanks for all your help, Weewa. Once we've gwown up, you can go back to your family. We'll never bother you again.
Leela: Well..you could bother me a little.

Yeah, it is.

Oh, there's also that other part from Cyber House Rules, where Fry is asking Leela if she wants to be normal like Adlai with no severe mental or physical defects (?), or a freak like the PE crew. I don't have the  exact quote at hand right now. I think that episode tends to be underrated.

And welcome to PEEL!

That was the first quote i thought about when i saw the link to this thread. But i get the feeling that the producers/writers are extra proud with that quote, so they end the episode with repeating it.
Its good, but not THAT good, right?  :)

That's a rubbish quote. "Right and wrong are just words. What matters is what you do" is much better.

Fry: We've gotta get him back.

Cubert: Impossible! No one knows where they take those old geezers.

Fry: Nothing is impossible. You'd know that if you really took after the Professor, like I do.

Cubert: You're his uncle, dummy. He takes after you.

Fry: Uh ... what?

Cubert: Wait a second. That means I also take after you!

[He screams.]

On an unrelated but still relevant note:

Bender: Fry, what's wrong?

Fry: Think about it: Seymour lived a full life after I was gone. He probably even added new songs to his repertoire.

Bender: But that's a good thing. Walking On Sunshine sucks noodles!

Fry: I had Seymour till he was three. That's when I knew him and that's when I loved him. I'll never forget him. But he forgot me a long, long time ago.

And we all know what happened next.    :(

If you're ever searching for an exact quote from an episode, The Futurama Madhouse has a complete episode transcript section that makes for a great resource.

Leela: Listen, I'm scared too. But I'm more scared of disappointing myself.

Fry: I thought that maybe if you heard a familiar voice it might help keep your mind together. But who knows if it really got through.

Leela: The only time I feel alright is with you, in my dreams.

Fry: This isn't the way Christmas is supposed to be.

Fry: Well, I spent every penny I had but I bet Leela's gonna love you.

Leela: You didn't need to buy me a present, Fry.
Fry: I just wanted to do something to make you happy. I mean, I miss my family but you never even had a family.
Leela: It's OK. You're lonely and I'm lonely. But, together, we're lonely together.

Fry: My fellow fish monsters, far be it for me to question your stupid civilisation or its dumb customs, but is squeezing each other's brains out with a giant nutcracker really going to solve anything?

Leela: I guess I was so desperate to find out who I really was, I forgot who I really was.

Fry: Dr. Zoidberg is my friend, and though a woman has come between us, I say we'll always remain friends.

Of course, we all know what happens to Fry after that. But it's the thought that counts right? Lol

Bender: "I'll never be to good or to evil again, from now on I'll just be me."

------------------------------------------

Leela: "I don't have words to say how wonderful you are, Fry. I haven't felt this happy since double-soup Tuesday at the orphanarium."

Fry: "When I'm with you, every day seems like double-soup Tuesday."

Fry: "And the professor's a senile, amoral crackpot."

Professor: "Ooeeay!"

Fry: "Hermes is a Rastafarian accountant."

Hermes: "Tally me banana!"

Fry: "Amy's a klutz from Mars."

Amy: "Sploops!"

Professor: "And Fry, you've got that brain thing."

Fry: "I already did!  So Leela, do you wanna be like us, or do you wanna be like Adelai, with no severe mental or social problems whatsoever?"

Theologically speaking, this is Futurama's deepest quote.

I agree that's Futurama's deepest quote.  How about this one from Bender?

Bender: "Inside, you have a heart of a robot!  Just like inside me, I have the heart of a human!"

I agree, that could have a deeper meaning. Though Bender is not cheesy enough to be that deep about anything . But it could!  :)
