I also hope the movie is better than the trailer. Some of the jokes seemed a bit too low brow. They usually put the broad-ranged, one liners in the trailers for things to grab an audience, so I have faith the actual movie will have better written jokes.

Yeah the trailer wasn't as good as it could have been. But hey it was advertizing new Futurama so whatev. Did anyone notice that Nibbler's speaking voice was different? Or was is my hearing messed up? But to me Nibbler's speaking voice didn't sound like it normally does.

Nibbler's voice sounded different at first then it didn't later.

Not sure what some of you were expecting (hey what'd ja want for free) but it looked like Futurama to me (with all sorts of compression codecing to fit on the Web, of course).

Frida, you are made of awesome and win and greatness.

ETA: It's probably obvious, but that's not the 5 minute trailer they showed at the Comic-Con panel; it's the 2 minute trailer the Fox booth showed once an hour or so.  It does seem a bit choppy/off-paced in places, but I put that down to quick editing to fit everything into two minutes.

I thought it was great.  I mean, two whole minutes of never-before seen Futurama.  How can that not be great?

I think all it was it that Nibbler's voice was just a little bit deeper than usual. What do you expect when somebody hasn't done a voice in about 4 years?

I also noticed how they used from the Comics the line "Hasta la vista, Meatbag" and the character style/look of Terminator Bender.

I should have said something before, but I found this single interesting detail in the trailer.

This screenshot was taken immediately before the time sphere was projected as a holographic image, noting Fry butt-naked on the exam table. You may have to squint, but it appears that Zoidberg is wearing a crown.

How did Zoidberg obtain that crown? Though it is very tiny in the screen shot, its possible that that same crown will later be owned by Nudar, as he is shown with a crown on on the cover of the DVD.

Interesting observation, I've never noticed that. Maybe Zoidberg found it in some old dumpster and it turned out to be valuable...

Maybe, but it doesn't appear on Zoidy's head later in the scene. Here's a cap. (not quite mighty 10X magnification). My guess it's light fixture on the back wall or part of some equipment near the wall.

I am begining to wonder if the corn dog bone getting stuck in the Spizler was really an accident, though. Some pictures from a grassy knoll indicate an odd small shadow near the controls.

Oh that's simple: from Zoidberg 1. All bow before *king* Zoidberg, as he caresses his box!

It is definitely sitting on top of his head. It's too fitted to it when I see it in my version.

I don't think the crown that Dr. Zoidberg is wearing is the same crown as Nudar's now. Though you can't tell from my screenshot, one part of the crown that Zoidberg is wearing has a club-shape for one of the points. In all the promo material we have of Nudar, his crown doesn't feature that. Maybe the crew ate at a Burger Prince and Zoidberg picked up a crown there.

I don't think any of the alien nudists seen in the trailer were Nudar. Nudar doesn't have the huge bubble connecting his jaw to his throat, while the others do. I question if those aliens are even affiliated with Nudar- they didn't seem so evil.

I wonder if anybody caught this in the trailer, but Bender will also be traveling to different dates during the time that Fry is frozen, because he attends the Nobel Prizes 2308 Awards Ceremony. The sign is covered so quickly by the title screen in the trailer.

By the way, notice where the professor is looking in the larger screenshot of that scene.

If it is a crown it likely comes from Bender's loot from the past. As I recall Nudar sends Bender into Earth's past to take everything of value. It would probably take more than one journey so there's probably a pile of it buiding up somewhere at PE.

Don't know. Bender may go get something in the past, come back to the 31st Century, then go back into the past for something else, and so on. The Nibblolian attack, to me at least, seems like something that would happen later not earlier.

Anyway, it seems unlikely that Bender would go far back in time once and just wait to return to the 31st Century from there. At least without digging himself out of the New Mexico desert. That and we would have seen 2 Benders sometime in the 1st TV run in some episodes.

No, wait... Bender is thrown back into the 21st century, like futz said, and then just waits to return to the point at which he left. But he can't resist tampering with his own timelines a little, so he decides to disguise himself in the most perfect manner imaginable... He gives himself a goatee!

That could explain that "Bender Gets Made' deleted scene in which he scratches off his serial number...

I don't know when it'll be out internationally, but it'll have to be ready for the Xmas shopping season, surely? I hope so. I also hope we do get that fancy lenticular cover. They've become increasingly common these days; my Twilight Zone box set has one.

About a month 'til I get it, I estimate. Hoo yeah.

It won't be out internationally this year, it would have been announced by now if it was. You'll have to import it from America instead...

Otis is probably right. I did an interview with DXC for CGEF (goes live today) and he said he didn't yet hear of an international release or HD release date.

Edit: Here's the interview with DXC.

Thanks for the interview -mArc-.

We know that the writers and DXC use to lurk in alt.tv.futurma on Usenet.  Now that Usenet is nothing but a spammers heaven and as devoid of intelligent life as the moon, do the they lurk elsewhere?  And by 'elsewhere' I mean here, and by 'here', I mean PEEL.

It was nice of him to give a shout-out to the fans as being the reason for Futurama's reserection.  Now I'd like to give him a shout-out for giving us an intelligent sci-fi cartoon.

The UK Simpsons Movie DVD has the trailer for Bender's Big Score, and that's coming out on the 10th, so presumably Bender's Big Score will be out in January/February.

Hear hear!

It reeks that the fans outside of region 1 have to wait an undetermined amount of time for the DVD to be officially released to them.    :hmpf: That was a great interview, though, [-mArc-] (and quite the intriguing screenshot we were given...).

I'd like to think the showrunners occasionally lurk here (I think they used to browse the now disfunct TFO forums, if that screenshot on Farnsie's computer in "Fryrish" is anything to go by), but I honestly don't know if they come to PEEL or not.

ETA: One thing that did strike me as strange while I was reading- Mr. Cohen didn't mention Katey Sagal amongst the people who had recorded commentary, but I thought we'd been told earlier that she had recorded commentary?

Awesome interview! Pity you didn't ask when The Beats With A Billion Backs is likely to hit, but other than that it's a really great interview. It seems almost unreal that after all these years of waiting we are in the same month now as Futurama's return! This Hypnotoad extra sounds interesting indeed btw...
