Nice, I bet they'll say in the commentary that they're watching an unfinished version and stuff. Really pumped for The Beast With A Billion Backs. I have a really good feeling about it!...

Too bad they already recorded the commentary for the next movie; I would have liked to have heard their reaction to Comedy Central cutting so much of the first movie (on the other hand, they were probably already aware beforehand...).

I can't speak for Crash_7, but I got my Futurama/Bendernator poster at ComicCon for $25 (would have been $15 if I hadn't gotten one of the signed ones).  I imagine posters like that could be found at a lot of the major sci-fi and pop culture conventions, or even the odd comic book store.  Save that... maybe e-bay?

I do have to wonder what's taking so long in that case. I guess the DVD extras could be it but, most of the ones announced don't sound as if they'd take all that long to do.

I think it's more a case of them simply wanting the DVDs to be released at what they consider to be strategic times. Either that or perhaps there were some unforeseen complications, maybe due to the strike after all.

Strategic times, quite possibly. The strike? Probably not. If they already recorded the commentary then I doubt the strike set it back to June on its own.

Cool, but odd. Leela is the central figure, with Fry running away. In the trailer, Fry was the focus of the monster, with Leela getting virtually no screentime. Well, I guess the whole Lars thing wasn't shown before BBS so the focus of this movie could be anyone's guess, really.

TVshowsondvd.com usually gets nice, high-res shots of covers, so keep your eyes peeled.

Leela being the focus of the cover art probably has to do with the fact that she'll have to be the one to kill it. It obviously won't be a mind controlled Fry, or a still on Earth Bender. Plus I doubt Zapp's plan will succeed (though you never know).

Best Futurama cover art I've ever seen. Too bad it'll be printed on a flimsy "green" piece of garbage.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAY this is awesome! I love the cover art. I agree with FishyJoe that this is the best cover art. I told you I had a good feeling about this movie, and now I'm even more pumped. It has a 1950's B-movie feel to the artwork which I really like!...

Also about the cardboard packaging, I have the feeling that in England it will be in a regular case which is probably a good thing. It's a week and a half until Bender's Big Score comes out here (yeah it's taken ages, even Australia got it before us). I shall see then and report back on it here as I'll be buying an English copy to go with my American one...

I got them from a shop on Ebay 3 or 4 years ago.  I think it was a comic book store somewhere in Ohio.  It was a 3-pack.  Also included a poster of Bender with the caption beneath him, "Bite my shiny metal ass!"  I don't have that one on display at the moment.  I think the 3-pack was around $30 shipped.

(Manually pushes up jaw) Now that is one very impressive cover.

Not too often you see Leela as the damsel in distress. Then again that could just be part of the 50s movie/comic style. You know where everything had a beautiful woman in danger on the cover, even if it had nothing to do with the story, so people would buy it.

[Prof. Farnsworth] Doi! [/Prof. Farnsworth]   ;)

AWESOME COVER! I agree that the homage to 50's sci-fi movie posters is a great idea, considering the film's plot (what little I managed to glean from the preview). Leela in a nightie...   :flirt:

EDIT: And yet, even in a nightie, Leela still has her wrist Thingamajigger on.   :D

I think itīs above all parody of "damsel in distress" illustrations of pulp sci-fi. Great cover definitely...

Well, I don't speak german, but I found the cover-art at amazon.co.uk yesterday, and they even have 30th june listed as the region2 dvd's release date!!
It would be incredible to get my hands on BWBB after all the waiting for BBS.

By the way, about the BBS cover in England, recently "BBS limited edition lenticular sleeze" appeared next to the ordinary BBS title at amazon.co.uk, so I guess you can choose here.

Obviously, the cover with Leela being carried away is a teaser.  We all know from the previews it's Fry who gets captured by the monster and has his brainwashed by it.

Besides, as many here said, it's a parody of those 50's sci-fi posters.  Leela has a gun in her hand as we all can see.  Makes me look forward to it even more!

Well, it's Futurama's 9th Birthday, so I'll watch the movie and 5 of my favourite commentaries.
I know it's a little off topic, but I don't remember what the thread is to put this in.

I was searching randomly on the web and found this short plot thingo:

"The planet express crew must work to fix rips in the universe and another, inhabited by a planet-sized, tentacle alien which soon takes over earth and uses its ability to control Fry to command an entire religion which takes over and convinces the inhabitants of earth, to abandon earth to live in a pseudo-heaven, leaving the robots of the world to inhabit the planet."

Im not sure if thats really accurate, so dont diss me out saying im wrong, i wrote what i read.

All the linked site says is that it has the 2nd futurama movie cover and that it should be released in the U.S. on june 24. It says there are rumors that it may be released on june 6 in the country that posted it. (Im guessing Germany, but im not sure.)

Roughly translates as, 'Finally we're back with again with some news news and this time with the new cover to the second Futurama film "The Beast With A Billion Backs".'

I want to know whether she's frightened by the fact she's being held by a giant tentacle monster, or by the fact that the Nimbus is apparently coming to rescue her.
