Has anyone else watched the Animatics (added extra) on Disc 1 for The Simpsons Season 8?

Matt Groening draws Leela over the Simpsons episode. It's only brief, but a bit of trivia I thought I'd pass on.

No problem, Arockalypse. I'm relatively new to forums so everything will be in full length  :)

Basically, the the extra on the disc 1 for Season 8 is an animatic for Treehouse of Horror 7 titled "A bit from the Animators". Mike Anderson (Director), Matt G. and others provide commentary for the animatic and "doodle" on the drawing tablet, which appear over the top of the animatic.
I'm new to all this forum stuff. Could you tell me how to post images? or can I send them to you for posting? Cheers.

First, you upload the images at a site like  http://www.imageshack.us
Then, you give us the link for the image or use the "picture" tag.

Yay, it works, The first is not Leela (obviously), It's Mike Anderson writing his name as he introduces himself.. MG mumbles "I've never been able to figure out how to draw Leela" as he actually draws her. Look it's not much but I love extras and commentary tracks on DVD's, so this little find brought a smile to my face.

yeah, I don't really know where the inspiration for Leela originated. Maybe someone else out there knows? (Maybe it's on a commentary track on the futurama DVDs?

An animatic is like a hand-drawn, black/white rough draft of the episode, mostly 2-3 frames per second on average. Are there animatics on the Futurama discs? I'll have to check. Over the top of most animatics is a commentary from Matt G., directors, writers etc., talking about how the process is done. They're interesting but you don't watch them every day.

*Pokes AROCKALYPSE*

*whispers* Shhh, if he goes off on a writing spree again, we're all doomed.

Cheers for that lil bit o knowledge there SteveB, there have been a few crossover kinda things in the simpsons, like that rock face that Bart destroys after some guy jumped off it to his death screeming "Why did they cancel Futurama... whhyyyyyyy"

I could swear there was also another "Bit From The Animators" on either Season 6 or 7 when Matt drew a Futurama character as well...I'm not completely sure though.
