You heard wrong. There are negotiations about doing a direct-to-DVD movie. New episodes are just wild Internet rumours.
But if it does what if it's awful. I have evry faith that it won't be but if it is then it will ruin the first 4 series which were solid gold. I bring up at this point the simpson episodes within the last 3-5 years. They have just been repeating themselves, How many times have Homer and Marge had a near divorce situation and how many times has Lisa had an identidy crisis. I'm just saying I hope that the new futurama episodes won't ruin the others.
How will new episodes ruin the old ones if they're below average in quality? Will "Roswell That Ends Well" retroactively become a steaming pile of bat droppings if the new episodes disappoint? It might stain the overall reputation of Futurama, but I don't understand how it could hurt the existing episodes.
Take the Simpsons example. Yes, the last 5-6 seasons have been a mixed blessing at best. But seesons 1 through 9 was among the best television made in the last 2 decades, and I'd rank them above Futurama in quality (at least 5-9).
Welcome to PEEL. Enjoy it here.
