Smart-Ass Answer: If they got trapped as "Rolswell", they would be trapped in a parallel universe where 'L's were often inserted in inappropriate places.  Most likely,it would be a universe visited by the crew by entering one of the Professor's paraboxes.  In that universe, the crew would be:  Fryl, Blender, Lleela, Zloidberg, Hermels, Lamy, Proflessor Hublert Flarnsworth, etc.  In this horrible universe, everyone's tongue is permanently twisted, in an attempt to pronounce all those extra 'L's.

A: Fry would not be able to stop the brains from destroying the universe - actually the universe would be destroyed the very instant they fail to go back before the space-time eversion closes - it's causality of the series that cannot be violated and is explained in several episodes (1ACV01, 2ACV16, 3ACV07, 3ACV19, 4ACV10)
[Those what-if questions are IMO just plain boring because they are not part of the futurama-universe.]
