If this allegation is true, I'm wondering if the show can still save some of its old (non-obsessive) fan base or at least replace those with some new fans? Of course I'd just be ecstatic for it to be on again!!! I'm thinking that the fans it lost it could easily replace, seeing as those who claim to have been fans of it in their childhood are all grown up now (note the high amount of pre-teens/teenagers posting on this board)

and this is kind of funny, but another futurama friend of mine who doesn't post on here copied me what billy said from another friend of his from another source. so at least the word is spreading fast

Bonjour! I'm neither dead nor overly cynical. I know that I should be sat back thinking 'hmm this seems a bit unlikely' but I'm instead throwing a parade. All are welcome.

Never mind that there is a God, there are Gods from all religions throwing a party with cool hats and everything and cheese on little sticks and stuff.

In other words here is my official return to PEEL, and i'm pretty damned excited.

There would probbaly be cake too. Oh yes.

I don't believe it. I don't believe a word of it. With all my heart, I disbelieve it, and this is my armour against inevitable disappointment.

You're all far too trusting.

Now, I need (for a very good reason), your credit card numbers, expiry dates, and security codes. Put them in that order, one line between each. Email them to me at IamnotathiefhonestlyI'mdoingittosavetheworld@youcantrustmethelastbankjobwasanaccident.com

Well, you know, I read the news and I was like..."Yay!" and stuff.  So I ran and told my sister and she was all like "Oh my god!" and stuff.

And then my brain started working and I realised it's all unconfirmed and it's probably a big lie, and I was like "Yeah, bummer.  I'll go post on PEEL or some junk."

But if it's not a lie, I'd probably be reeeeal happy.  love

Are there really a bunch of preteens hanging around now?  'Cause that would make me feel really old.

Hey! That's what I did! Though it is unconfirmed, what's Billy West's motive for saying this if it's untrue? I still have to ask that question...

Guys,
I'm sorry I gave inaccurate info on the cartoon.I was told on one end that the
TV show was a go but DXC enlightened me (with a hammer) that this was
not the case.I think there is a Futurama project as in DVD's but I appearently
had bad info. But I do live to give good Futurama news to people. So I must've
died or something.

All eyes on the skies,

Billy

HEY GUYS ----Please forgive me but I'm getting different information than
what I was given about Futuarma. DXC told me that this info was not true
right now --I think the DVD's are happening at some point, but I'm terribly
sorry about the misinformation! Please help me to tell all the posters about
this.I'll find as much accurate info as I can!

Thanks,
Billy

So, not all hope is dead; we're just probably not getting new episodes.

That was a pretty quick reversal.  I'm hoping that DXC told Billy to renounce this because FOX wants to announce it on their own time schedule.

Of course I want peace on earth and gooddwill to all men also....

If it  takes at least 6 months lead time to do a Simpsons episode then it's getting pretty late for anything this Fall for Futurama. Usually the voice tracks are done early if not first. He's still talking about voice work this summer so it would be Winter at the earliest.

Someone had asked about a series return/rumour on the RDS test site back on March 3 but RDS didn't respond. Sounds like something is going on but only a few really know. Someone Billy believes, other than DXC, is telling him this stuff.

oh man what a let down.  Lets just hope this means that FOX wants to clamp down on rumors started by sources close to the show so that they can announce what's really going on.  Unfortunately, from his last message it sounds like BW isn't quite so sure about movies either.  I'm thinking that's a bad sign.

and also, i thought the movies were confirmed.
i mean, according BW he talked with David X and i thought everyone wanted confirmation from him, and the confirmation is that BW said David X told him about the movies, right?  smile

This is disapointing, but at the same time the info had to come from somewhere.  I wouldn't be surprised if Ralph Snart is right, or perhaps that there are discussions but that there isn't any finality to it yet.  Remember, that Fox programming guy said a while ago that a return for Futurama was a possibility (and mentioned how well Family Guy is doing); it seems to me that they're probably talking about it at some level, and they just aren't far along yet to actually guarantee anything.

So, the sudden reversal is pretty disapointing, but I'm not losing all hope over it.

Hello new folks!

I want you to know that I heard from conflicting sources about the Futurama
news.I was set straight for now that it is NOT new TV episodes but the
original plan of making a few feature-length DVD's.Don't give up yet.I had
unsubstantiated info but there is a DVD project on the way.

I think the biggest problem right now is the way Mr. West is wording his announcements.  Saying things like "there is a DVD project on the way" confuddles the information because nothing has been officially confirmed.

It's good to hear that the DVDs are still apparantly on, though.  big grin
