I still believe the movies are being discussed, but admittingly I'm basing my faith more on what mArc's given us, rather than by what Billy West has contributed.  I still love the guy, but his enthusiasm over the future of the show seems to have clouding his judgement a bit.  I still don't know who told him about the 26 episodes, but he really should have waited for official confirmation before he went and spread the rumor.

Speaking of official confirmation: ComiCon is in a few months.  I'm hoping we'll hear something more concrete before June, but if we're going to get official movie news, that'll probably be our source.

Billy West's info is why I want a second source.  It isn't that I don't trust him.  It's what I learned in high school journalism -- always get an independent second source.

Billy has given us hope.  But -- we don't yet have an independent second source.  I really hope Futurama makes more episodes.  And so I really hope we get some sort of hint or confirmation from Fox, or Cartoon Network, or some other independent source.  Or even Lrrr and Ndnd.  Someone, please, give me hope.  (Otherwise I might turn to Robotology.)

It's possible FOX might make an official announement in May, round about when they announce their fall schedule.

...This is true.

I still much prefer the idea of a series of movies over a set of seasons.  Futurama has enough depth to it that I think they could do a lot with a movie; much more than they could do in 22 minutes.  I often found many of the stories, especially in the last season, to be rushed (for obvious reasons), and I always wished they'd chosen to take some episodes and turn them into two-parters.

Episodes are not cheap and cost five to six hundred thousand dollars to produce.

Don't take this personally, Donny boy, but you might want to sit down and think about it before you get excited about these things. We here at PEEL, we're the ones who've been sitting down and thinking realistically for a long time now. We do know what we're talking about. And by "we", I mean Nixorbo, Teral, and a few select others.

As a rough guide, don't trust popplers, curstaceans, or delivery boys. They've not been here long enough, or been shot down in flames often enough to realise that life is exceedingly cruel, and nowhere is this more evident than the cut-throat and brutal world of animated television programmes. Just look at the Transformers. Where are they now, huh?

I'll tell you where they are. Optimus prime is working as a rent boy in Manhatten, and the decepticons are busy dismantiling the others in Japan to build PS3's. That's where they are now.

Remember, Donald. One day the decepticons will come for you. Not because you matter, but because they just plain don't like you.

Edited because for all my mighty deductive reasoning and idiot-proof logical programming, I can't spell.

Donald, if you'd like further information, and also the secrets to becoming a Moderator on PEEL, please Click This Link, and all will be revealed to you.[/small]
By the way i meant a 5 minute short or something   and  dont be stereotypical on crustaceans and delivery boys you may have been on this website longer but i saw futuramas launch what are dcepticons  okay when i bring my friend kenny on here totalnerduk dont do this to him.And you arent better than me just because your icons higher thats dumb totalnerduk i know episodes cost more than 6k.

Even Cartoon Network is getting on the "What the hell is going on?" bandwagon.

Sunday, 4/2/06 at the end of Futurama, they ran a blurb on the screen with a question asking:

"What's going on with the new episodes of Futurama?

Then answered the question with:

"We don't know.  Somebody give us a firm answer."

At least we aren't the only geeks fans with the same questions.

I don't blame them.  Why are we being lead on about this?  Let's hope we hear something this summer about the movies.  The movie are coming?  Right?  With all this being lead on and flase rumors, I honestly don't know what to believe anymore.

Even the people who work on Adult Swim wants answers!

Nothing has been confirmed.

Well, everything that has confirmed has also been denied.

This is starting to remind me of the X-Files. Billy West is Mulder, and FOX are the Cigarette-Smoking-Men.

The IMBD entry is fake.  Someone from this very forum even posted a fake plot synopsis to prove that not all information that IMBD gives out is trustworthy, let alone official.

Donald, your a noob, and yes some people are better than you.

What does your bad report card have to do with anything?

TNUK correctly said that episodes cost between 5 and 6 hundred thousand dollars, not 6 thousand dollars.

Tell your stupid friend not to call people who have been here for years and know vastly more than him noobs.

He just proved what TNUK said about crustaceans by believing that IMBD entry and calling it official.

Stop confronting people that know more than you.

Also, learn to spell and use correct grammar.

Add the double posts, his belief in the imbd futurama movie entry and the fact that he has been here less than 10 days and i think i can justly call him a noob. Especially when he brings people like kenny here who call people like TNUK a noob.

Stop freaking out about being new, seriously, it's not meant to be offensive, unless used in the way Kenny used it.
