When i first read Billy West's post on his website i was pretty excited. But that was nearly a month ago now! apart from Billy's original post we haven't REALLY had anything to show that the futurama movies are more real now than they were a few months ago. Why are fox choosing to remain silent? Is it possible Billy was mislead? Does ANYONE have a clue what's actually going on?
I wouldn't have thought anyone would have the heart to knock down peoples hopes now after getting them up so much. But with Fox, I dunno..........

Relax, not hearing an official announcement from Fox yet isn't surprising at all. There's always a chance that Fox will pull the plug on the idea, of course, but it's no more likely now than it was a month ago. If the planned beginning of production (july/august) comes and goes without hearing anything, then would be the time to start worrying a little. But if Fox pulls the plug, you can bet we'll hear about it, from either BW or DXC.

Gopher's right.  We'll probably hear about it if the movies don't get greenlighted.  Either way, we'll hear about it from Billy West or David X. Cohen.

Hell, there's even a listing for the movie on the IMDB.  That should be a good sign.  I believe the DVD movies will come.

I would imagine that Fox and the show's producers would want to work in some secrecy.  The Simpsons movie has been in development for some time and they've barely talked about it (they even seem to have told one of the voice actors to stop talking about it).  I think they just want to keep a lot of aspects of the movie a surprise, and be able to work without being hounded by fans and the press.

Fox have been asked to comfirm the rumours and i think they chose not to give comfirmation or a denial which is more than we've gotten from them before. I think it will still be a while before we get any kind of official comfirmation from fox, matt or DXC, because althought from what Billy posted it sounds as if the project got the green light but its still in its planning stages if that, and if something doesnt work out they wouldn't want to have to sound as if they had lied about it being a sure thing. I think that were only going to get an official confirmation or denial after the july/august proposed start of 'filming'.
As for now, i think the best thing we can do is just relax and hope that what billy said is right and keep an eye out for any new posts/news from his direction. As soon as any major news comes out, we'll hear about it.

the only bad thing is if the deal with Fox falls through, then what happens next? No more Futurama!

Ive heard of what might be an early script called the other about Leelas importance to the nibblonians also if the buggers at FOX fall through they could always turn them into book form

I think that Lennie Asserholts two scripts in CGEFs fan fiction section would be sound basis for one of the movies.

I would like to find out myself what Leela's importance is to the Nibbloians.  So, those movies have to come out.  If the movies don't, we'll never know any answers to unanswered questions.

My guess is since it's been said that the movies will go into production this summer, we'll learn more by then.
