There's 18 04xx episodes. I'm not sure how many are left of 03xx. 6? 5?

Fox thought they had it made when they contracted to put a camera crew in every sports venue...Now the rooster is coming to roost when they found out about the high-definition standard.

since they can stretch the leftover episodes for at least another season (or 2, at this rate) is there any chance that they could order more later?  like next year?

Torquemada thinks that life will be meaningless without Futurama and is considering selling all his worldy possessions (too many s's?), catching a flight to America and martyring himself to the anti-fox cause in a blaze of freely available gun toting glory. MUST KILL FOX EXEC'S!

It has all become clear, I see it all now. I must goto America, armed with a cheese grater and a family size bottle of vinegar, maybe some chloroform too. I must go, go there and start hurting them. Slowly and deliberately, and with much gusto apply things that sting to their open wounds. I must revel in their screams and when they are gone carve my legacy into the fox board room table, an epitaph to spell out to those who next use it why they sit where they do.
It is all so simple, so simple.  :)

Well that's not exactly a death sentence. They're still so backlogged from Season 4 that they could pick up production during "Season 5" again.

I hope.

And the creators sit around for a year or two with no job?

No, it is so crystal clear to me, the voices were right, there is no god. And if there is no god then I will not be punshed for what I must do. They were telling me all along:"KILL KILL KILL KILL" and they were right!  :evillaugh:

First, this is all pure speculation. The fact is nobody here can make a 100% accurate state on this matter. Until I read a “genuine” press release from Fox, I’m not going to believe any second hand hear say I read up out here....I would advice the rest of you to do the same. Personally, I don’t think they will cancel the show... But, like each and everyone of you,
what the hell do I know....

PS Thanks SpongeMonkey, I’ll be sending a few letters out this week.

Sarge is a fancy animator guy who knows what he's talking about. Besides, I don't think fox puts out press releases hyping up the fact that they cancelled some shows. They would just talk about the shows they did renew, and not mention anything about Futurama and The Tick and whatever else.

It wouldn't be unprecedant. Like I mentioned in another post, there's more new Family Guy eps this year than Futurama so far. And that show is long dead.  But....it wouldn't make sense according to Fox to come back & do a season 6 (season 5 for the artists  ). Not that they wouldn't get the artists gladly back (from McDonalds), but it would be in conflict with Rough Draft. Animation producers want a few years of work for their crew, not one.
I think Matt G. is just getting tired of Hollywood & wants to retire.

Well, I've sent an E-mail to Fox, remarkably polite considering the way I'm feeling at the moment. Curse them to hell.

Here's a thought. I'm not one for viruses but wouldn't it be so cool if some one sent a virus to Fox so when ever they tried to do anything on their computers they'd just get a message saying 'DON'T CANCEL FUTURAMA!'? I'd like to see them try and ignore that, like they do with every other thing about Futurama.
