This is my first post here, and I'm glad i found this forum. I have wanted for a while now to truly tell people how much i love the show Futurama. Some people say it's too much like the simpsons, but i don't think so. BUt I'm not gonna win you over. After all, you're looking at a Futurama message board, so you probably like the show.
I think this show is hilarious. Not only are the jokes that the writers  put right in your face funny, but also the little touches that are put in. My favorite episode is "The devil's hands are idle playthings", and one of my favorite parts is where the audience starts joining in in the opera, and Zoidberg sings "I can't believe we're all ad libbing!" NOt only is the line funny, but the way he delivers it is amazing. A character like Zoidberg is very silly, and he sings it very intense and seriously, but still with his ridiculous voice. It cracks me up juwst thinking about it. Also, that episode has another reason why i love the show. It's not just all jokes. It has heart. Their are sad moments. The saddest of all being the end segment of JUrassic Bark where Seymour is waiting for Fry to come back. The combination of the poor old dog and the music in the background makes me feel sad, but also makes me feel warm, and loved. This show is just so funny and touching, i can't blieve it.
Well, There was my rant. I You don't really have to respond, or even care, but feel free to do so. I just really wanted to get all this out.

I agree completely. Futurama is one of my favorite shows because, apart from being funny, it has *depth*. I *care* what happens to the characters.

There are other funny shows, like Family Guy, for example, true. However it's very difficult for me to ever care about any of the characters in that show, and any small attempt at romance or anything not humor just falls flat, and comes off as corny.

But that doesn't happen with Futurama. I love it for episodes like The Sting, Parasites Lost, and Time Keeps on Slipping, aside from the hilarity it has.

The show manages to be funny, but not corny. Romantic and deep, and yet still hilarious. The characters are not just cliche'd extremes, either.

I just got done typing a similar long post, so I'll stop here. Read the tearjerkers thread or worst episode thread if you want a better idea of what I mean.

This forum should have "stickies", also known as posts that always stay at the top and never go down. (A good title would be: ALL NEW MEMBERS OPEN THIS AND READ BEFORE POSTING!!!)

Are you suggesting that this post should be a sticky? Why?

No, she's just reffering to the "no "hi i'm new" style threads" rule.
