Chances I'll be first with this one?

The box says "No".

In a CNN article about cancellation of some other FOX programs, Futurama is mentioned:

=====================================
Meanwhile, there haven't been any active negotiations to revive "Futurama," which, much like "Family Guy" before it, is enjoying a second life on Cartoon Network's "Adult Swim" late-night block. But Fox executives are keeping a close eye on the series' newfound success.

Same ol non-news, I guess. Nice to know people are still chatting and watching, though.

Yea, but with all this sudden news about Futurama's return, and then suddenly, its not returning, we don't know what to expect. But since FOX have suddenly become interested in it again, we can expect good things.

I'm glad Malcolm is getting cancelled, that show never should've seen the light of day!  Since FOX is interested in giving Futurama a second chance, that's a good sign!

Also, That 70's Show needs to be put out to pasture as well.  Since Futurama found success on Adult Swim, then it's bound to come back somehow.

Meh, "American Idol" will not be cancelled if it continues to get the ratings it does.

malcolm had its run. it was really good and clever in the beginning, now the writers have seemed to run out of ideas and it's quite bland. i saw that cancellation coming

that 70s show used to be really good too, but it got dull a few seasons ago.

american idol needs to be canned soon...it's same every season...boring...hooray to phasing out reality tv...

now bring back cartoons, futurama style!  :D

Yeah bring back cartoons. 70's show needed to be taken off life support, I mean Eric wasn't even there. The only FOX shows I watch are the simpsons, family guy, bernie mac, and 24 or "twenty fizzour" as my brother calls it. They need new shows and no more reality shows unless its "Torture with Celeberties".

That CNN article isn't quite complete....here's  the direct quote:

QUESTION: Peter over here. A couple of questions, one with reality. How has the reality landscape or unscripted landscape changed in the last year, in your view? Is there a kind of reality show that no longer fits the mold, no longer works?

PETER LIGUORI: I'm sorry?

QUESTION: And then the second question is: There's a rumor making rounds that you were actually considering bringing back "Futurama." Is that possibly true?

PETER LIGUORI: Okay. I'll divide them up. First of all, the state of the unscripted business -- you know, clearly what seems to be working -- and philosophically, I think when you look at unscripted, all bets are off. A great idea trumps them all. And if you try to just be a trend watcher, you're not going to be ahead of the curve at some point with that one truly unique outstanding idea. What's going on right now is a lot of the reality shows tend to be a little more aspirational, and that does seem to be the trend.

When I'm in discussions with Mike, we're looking at unscripted ideas that run the gamut. And all we're looking for is the idea that's got inspiration behind it. In terms of "Futurama" -- there's no doubt that the "Family Guy" model worked outstandingly. It's great to be a network exec and have a decision made for you by an audience. In terms of "Futurama," there haven't really been any active negotiations at this point. But I'd be an ostrich to just stick my head in the dirt and not realize what's going on with "Futurama" as well.
