I thought it would be good if we had a topic on this. (Don't know if it has been done) I started around 2001-2002.

Being a lifelong Simpson fan, I caught the first air date and due to the greatness of Futurama, I've been a fan since day one, however, I've become a bigger fan through cartoon network, since there were several episodes I didn't see on their original airdate due to the stupid bastards at Fox

My friend made me watch an episode in 2003,but I thought it was it was stupid. My exact qoute"This is the stupidist show I've ever seen! There's a retarted talking robot and a one-eyed idiot,I'm not watching this!"My mom started watching it in 2004.I don't know why but I sat down and watched an episode and loved it ever since.

I believe this topic has been done before, but for the life of me, I couldn't find it when I searched for it.

Can someone with better searching skills than me prove me wrong or prove me right?

Oh yeah, I just started watching in late-2003 or early-2004. (Thanks to [adult swim]. I think I saw promos for the episodes when they originally came out, but I don't remember watching any original airings.) But that doesn't matter, since I really wasn't watching it.

I originally thought it was going to just be another excuse for Matt Groening to flaunt his popularity. I remember thinking to myself: "Oh great! Just what we need: Matt Groening stealing another half-hour time slot of television for himself!" But, of course, my parents wanted to give the show a chance and I had nothing better to do so I watched it as well and was hooked. And I'm now known at my school as that Chic with the Infinite Encyclopedic Knowledge of that Cancelled Sitcom That Isn't Family Guy (AKA~Futurama). The End.

I watched it sparingly for the first few months. Saw the first season or so (minus My three suns and Hell is other robots). I liked it but my dad was not so fond of it. I watched it whenever could find it since FOX put it everywhere but the scheduled time. I caught a few episodes here and there and then when I saw Parasites Lost again, I was hooked. But I don't remember ever catching another original airing of the show. Then when I started college 2 years ago, I discovered it again. Sad thing is, I thought the show was still in production at that point. I collected all four DVD volumes and well, here we are.

I watched since the Fox premiere, altough I did miss some shows due to it airing the same time as WWF/E Heat.

Jay your my hero! I've been obsessed with WWE since 2000, worn diffrent wrestling shirts for 7 months straight etc, etc. I just saw Season 4 or Futurama at some store and brought it (my friend had said it was a good show), then I ended up buying all the other seasons

Like some people that posted before me, I have given my story many times. This topic is hidden behind such nice names, like:

were you on the bandwagon since Day One?
Which episode got you into Futurama? <- not only talking about the first episode people watched.
How did you find out/tune in/found about Futurama...
What was your first episode?

May 2005.  I watched 'The Sting' and 'Where No Fan Has Gone Before' on CN.  3 AM, I was at Wal-Mart and bought all 4 seasons.  I watched the eps from beginning to end over the course of a month.  My wife hated it to begin with, until she watch 'Jurassic Bark', then she was hooked.

The summer of 2003. Sky One was going through one of its phases where they have the rights to The Simpsons but weren't showing it. I didn't feel like changing the channel when the other show came on so I started watching. It was like the Simpsons, but better! It had robots and spaceships. I watched for a few weeks, then when it came on the announcer said it was the last one. I really liked it and started buying the magazines. But then The Simpsons started again and I forgot about it until I'd bought all the Simpsons boxsets. I bought one of the Futurama ones. I liked it better and soon had them all.

I think that I started in 2001, as far as regular viewing goes. I might have caught the odd episode between 2000 and 2001.

Not that I don't applaud the creator of this thread for actually posing a sensible question on the GD Forum, but can't we somehow amalgamate all these threads into one Uber-Thread that will take care of all these little spinners-off?

I like these two.  The first two are iffy, but these three (including this particular thread) are basically the same.  Pick one of the older ones, the other closes.
