Okay, what the hell.

Even when there is no possible way to pre-empt Futurama, FOX finds a way..

Apparently FOX is running a one-hour Simpsons special at 7 PM on Sunday, replacing you know what.

It -was- at 8 PM, but they moved it to 7 PM.

Will they play Futurama after the event? I hope so. But this is FOX we're talking about.

ARGH! I saw the schedule. It's "Homer the Moe" and "Treehouse of Horror" I guess they're doing this because some show called "The Chamber" airs. I really really hope that Futurama didn't get axed along with The Tick and Family Guy. I doubt it but look here: http://fox.com/schedule/schedule_nextweek.htm

FOX Owns The Cleveland FOX Station and they ran the 7-8 Simpsons Promo Also...Doesn't Mean They Didn't Switch The Time Slots Also.

[incomprehensible string of swear words]

Ugh, fuck this. It's bad enough that Futurama never gets shown...but why can't fox tell us in the first place? Why must they get our hopes up with Futurama commercials, only to crap all over them later that same week?

Here's too seeing only about 4 season 4 episodes this entire year.  What a joke, FOX really could give a damn about fans of Futurama.

BASTARD has removed one of CGEF's pics! This has gone too far...I heard the BASTARD corporation is going to cancel The Simpsons for some weird show having to do with sci-fi, can't remember the name, but it's certainly not Futurama. To owners of BASTARD Entertainment, show Futurama right after football, and stop hyping That 80's Show!

(edit)Well, OFF isn't canceled altogether, but just for this Sunday.

The whole schedule confused me. First, on 1/13 "Godfellas" and "Sweet & Sour Marge were supposed to air and then on 1/20, "Homer the Moe" and "TOH XII" would air with a re-run of "Bendless Love". Then, the two Simpsons schedulings switched around, which would pre-empt Malcolm. Now "The Chamber" has to fit in, so FOX decides to screw Futurama so that people can watch these Simpsons that were just on 2 months ago. Well, at least they're pretty good episodes... Wait, I just checked tvguide.com now there's no Futurama period because of football on 1/20. This sucks ass.

OH-NO!!! EVEN WORSE! "The Chamber" is a reality-game show like thing! [jumps out window, lands through roof of another building, then runs out another window. Process repeats for a couple hours]

I saw that today, which pissed me off quite a bit. On the plus side for me, I discovered a local station that plays Futurama (only repeats) once a week. And once is better than none! Hooray!

Somehow this just reminds me of the movie "Major League" with Tom Berenger and Charlie Sheen.

FOX is doing anything that's within their power to screw Futurama, and then in a couple of months they'll anounce the death of the show, because "the ratings are bad". Bastards!

"The Chamber" is a cheap rip-off of another gameshow appearing on ABC in a week or so. FOX rearranged their schedule so that the rip-off could premiere first, making ABC look like the ones doing the ripping-off.

So, not only are they screwing US over, they're a bunch of plagiarists, too.

If Fox try to kill Futurama and say it's dead, it doesn't mean it's dead because some other channel can buy it and treat it properly, then Fox would realise it's mistakes.

 I was under the impression, that FOX had the exclusive rights for Futurama.  Thus a cancellation from FOX would equal a death penalty for the show.

They could ofcourse sell the rights to another channel, but knowing FOX, they would demand an amount equaling the national debt of a small developing country.

But then again I could be wrong. In that case, please enlighten me.  :)

has anyone thought about starting a petition at   http://www.PetitionOnline.com/

I am unsure if it will do any good but  it would be a start to get the knuckleheads at Fox to realize that Futurama is a pretty damn funny show and it would be a good thing to treat it with a little more respect. The Simpsons, while funny, is starting to run out of steam. Futurama  would be a good investment for them, at least we need to make them believe that.
Speedvision was recently bought out by fox and there was a fear that it was going to become an all NASCAR channel, someone started a petition and word got back to them that there were quite a few pissed off motorsports fans that did not like that idea.  60,000 signatures later.... we probably would not be able to get this many but......

ideas anyone.....VTRan

Welcome to PEEL VTRan. I hope you'll enjoy it here.   :D

About the petetion thing: To my knowledge noone has tried that yet (I could be wrong). I don't think it would impress FOX though. It had to be American signers only, for FOX to give it any thought. Besides they seem so madly, over the top, insanely in love with Simpsons anyway.

But then again it couldn't hurt to try.

There used to be the Save Futurama Project, to show FOX the many online Futurama fans support of the show.  Rupert Murdoch would probably just eat the petition anyway and cancel Futurama for a 30 minute block of That 80' Show commercials!!!

The Chamber by the way was pushed ahead so that it could get out before ABC's The Chair.  It is a who wants to be style game show but contestants answer questions while being in a chamber w/ physical hazards.  Like a windstorm, earthquake, rain???  WTF!  o~well it'll probably go the way of all the other primetime game shows *down the drain*.

I just got off the phone with a friend  (fellow futurama fan) who is also a civil lawyer.  He believes there might be a case in here for false advertising.  Bad news is that no one would get money from the persuit of such a suit.  Good news is that it could prevent Fox from being able to advertise a show and then not air it, including pre-empting from football.  Horrible news is he said it might cause Fox to deem the show's cost too high and cancel it.  Anyone else have views on this?

Welcome to PEEL SavaShip, this could be a very tricky situation and we don't want to make Fox drop the show. Caution advised is the best way to handle it.
