Do you think they will ever pick up Futurama again and carry it on, I mean is there any hope for all of us fans to be able to be granted with the brillaint show continuing or is it stated that it will never come back???!!!! I mean if there is still hope I will be sooo happy as the show carrying on would be so great in my opinion!!!!!!!!!!!

Who knows the hard cold facts about the status of Futurama being cancelled and if it will come back! As I don't know the facts and really want to know if there is still any hope for Futurama to return.... if anyone knows please tell me!!!

A movie would be well cool yeah and i would definetly watch it and buy the DVD etc but what I really want is the series to carry on I mean Simpsons is carrying on so it shows they still want to make fine comedy (Matt Groening etc) but I just hope they choose to pick up Futurama again, THAT WOULD RULE!!!

Well as we know Futurama was cancelled in 2002 and the last airing premiere was on August 10th of 2003. Since then Futurama has been living from the merchandise and the comics. For the past months there have been hopes about a comeback as a direct to DVD movie, however it isn't only the fanbase that is waiting for it to be greenlit. Matt Groening and David X Cohen are waiting for an ok from FOX as well, so the whole process of waiting still goes on.

To summarize it: Yes there is hope, but nothing you could actually do, since it all is in the hand of FOX, and they don't care about a few opinions, letters, wishs, petitons... or whatever from a comparable small fanbase.

Welcome to PEEL Dave B

Don't be upset, but you can be assure that this thread is going to be closed. Simply because we already had so many of these "Will it return" threads already. It's just that redundant threads will be closed.  :) That is also why you have to search every time before you want to start a new one. It's just that most topics have been started to discuss, and your idea won't have a big chance to survive anyhow in case there is already an existing thread opened for it. If you need any help for PEEL, like it's codes, general behaviour and traditions you might want to check out the official unofficial PEELers' FAQ. It's a nice read and verya helpful!

Enjoy your stay here.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they are gonna make a movie.  Sadly, I don't think the show will be coming back.  It still has most of its original fanbase and a few new comers, but the DVDs haven't been selling as well as the FG DVDs, and that was the deciding factor in reviving the show
