I'm keeping my fingers crossed but
hopefully that new version will work for everyone!

This next one is kind of long, but it'll be worth it for whoever gets it.  Furthermore, it's a 1 time character.  Also Gopher, this is putting your program to the test =).

Very appropriate considering the previous quote.

I do think, though, that MWZPIL appeared in a later episode, checking his pal out of Fry's room.  (Making him a two-time character.)  But I'll have to check to make sure.

Haven't read the spoiler, gonna decrypt it myself, but it's your turn next Tom, since you got Jensor's first

[edit]
finished decrypting it, realised I'm a doofus because I thought you had put a spoiler block containing the decyphered quote in the last post, heheh.
yer right about the 2nd appearance, tho.

And incidentally, I guess my proggie passed the test.  :) It DOES sometimes repace a letter with itself, which I might "fix" later, atm I just tend to proofread my own and re-enctypt (just hit the button again, don't have to re-enter the original) before pasting them here.

So is replacing a letter with itself against the rules? I've avoided it when manually encrypting quotes, but it doesn't seem like it would be a big deal... anyway, just wondering.

Also, whose go is it now, Tom's or Gopher's?

It's not a big deal, and not against the rules per say but some people get annoyed (see page 2) and I just try to avoid it myself.

Tom didn't post the answer, but his post clearly showed he had decrypted it, so I'd say it's his go, if he doesn't go by tomorrow afternoon I'll post another one.

Yeah, I'd forgotten that too...

Anyway, it's been quite a while, so I presume nobody will mind if I keep things moving & take this turn:

Got myself confused for a while on that one, trying to make "HUFG'E" into a common contraction (they'd, that's, aren't, wasn't, etc) which didn't work, heh.

wow, three? that's a record, I've seen 2 before. If you used my encoder, you could just hit encode again, since it's a substitution-cypher repeated encryption always produces a valid cryptogram. I'll probably rewrite mine one more time later to check for and eliminate such repetitions, shouldn't be too difficult.

and here's another:

Quote
"K VMR'N QKZD NSD QMMZJ MI NSKJ VMWNMC. K PDN K'BD QMJN FMCD OTNKDRNJ NSTR SD'J DBDR NCDTNDV." -UMKVPDCH

edit:
Fixed my program, kindof hacked solution but I haven't been going for elegance with this thing to begin with and it works. Now it should never replace A with A again. All rejoice, or something. Dunno how long it'll take for the new file to replace the old in all of geocities' caches, though, so the old might come up for a while.

Guess I'm not one to talk about "suspiciously fast" though so ...   ;)

Actually tho that one was pretty easy; guessed "we're" for "--'--" as there aren't that many 2'2 contractions, and the repeated e clinched it, then all is an obvious guess too, and from that plus the punctuation I guessed the quote.

As I said, it's very evil, I wouldn't have posted it until you came along and started solving everything so fast.. I figured thundercougarfalconbird would keep people stumped for a while  ;)

If you want a hint, I'll encode the very next line from the script in the same cypher; it's a short one.

The hint I'll ask for is, this character's name was mentioned on-screen (in which case I might be able to remember it) or only in the credits or script (in which case I can give up trying to guess it already)?

here's a hint for anyone who needs it, as this one is REALLY EVIL. This is the very next line, encrypted with the same cypher, MINUS the name of the speaker (that would be too big a hint, as it's a principle character)
since this is so far down the thread, here's the original quote again too
"GHXAUNF! VNAJJS-VNGJ-VNGJ-VGKKHP! HGS DZJP DEAW ZW JP, YMYPD!" -DHMXJD JGBCPWKAP

and now I'm going to do something besides lurk here. Happy cracking!

"ALRIGHT! WHIMMY-WHAM-WHAM-WAZZLE!
LAY SOME SKIN ON ME, DUDES!" - SLURMS MACKENZIE

"WOW! THE ORIGINAL PARTY WORM!"

I would have NEVER gotten that without the second line as a hint. I *had* actually tried "ALRIGHT!" as the first exclamation (together with "CAUTION!" and others) but the rest of Slurms' line didn't provide any hints. However, the word '?RIGI?AL' was pretty obvious when I tried again with the second line.

Evil. Really evil.

Now for mine. Very easy:

"AMCK RXX, RXX"
