"Nobody likes Futurama!"

This is exactly what my cousin said to me one time when he was visiting and got mad at me for a reason I'd rather not explain.  I tried telling him that it's one of the highest rated shows on Adult Swim, it has a huge fanbase, the DVD sales are soaring, and there's going to be DVD movies coming soon. 

He still doesn't believe me.  He thinks nobody likes the show, and I also told him if nobody liked it, Futurama wouldn't even be on TV.  Also, he said that nobody knows about it, as much as someone would know about, say, Seinfeld.  How can I convince him that there are people who like Futurama?  Also, he never even wants to watch it, either.

Why don't you get him to talk to people here on PEEL.We'll tell him how much we like it,And how good of a show it is.Next time he comes over sit him down infront of the computer and have him ask us we'll tell him.

Well i'm not sure about the movie still(not that i don't want a movie) but just show him the member list of this site and if that doesn't work then tell him from everyone's favorate doctor that he's a compleate bottomhole that knows nothing.

You can't. Your cousin probably couldn't give a burning rodent posterior about Futurama, but he knew you like the show and would get defensive if he attacked it. So he used that information to gain the upper hand in whatever you two were fighting about.

Now he just keep saying that Futurama sucks to spite you. The more evidence you produce to show Futurama is appreciated, the more ardently he'll maintain that nobody likes it.

Let's not get carried away. The DVD's sell nicely and continues to do so, I wouldn't say they're soaring.

Seinfeld was on for what, 8 seasons? Futurama was only on for 4 but got cancelled way before hand. Yes there are people who like people but lets be honest, it was not the #1 show around. That's FOX's fault but still it's not popular. The people who appriciate it like it and the ones who don't don't.

And if you think that you have to prove to your cousin that it is great by telling him exaggerations, that you sir are a loser.

• Who is your cousin?  Is he important?  I'm guessing he's not, so who the hell cares what he thinks?
• What exactly do you think Futurama is?  It's not some sort of animation messiah.  Sure it's a great show, but it's a cult show with a cult following, so who the hell cares that it's not mainstream?
• Do you actually expect him to change what he thinks based on anecdotal factoids?  That's how religions work, Kurt, not reality.  He's not going to change his mind until Futurama gloriously returns from the abyss, slaughters the Simpsons, and new episodes are played on every network and channel every week for the next 15 years.  But since that's not going to happen, who the hell cares?
• How many viewers do you think you'll need to impress your cousin?  1000?  100000?  1000000?  Where do you want them?  On your front lawn?  Your cousin's?  Maybe they should just call him long-distance and say, "I like Futurama!"  Stop me if I sound ridiculous.  I'll just cut to the chase and end this with "who the hell cares?"

Kurt if you want good ammunition for your little tiff with your cousin, tell him he's a bad person for starting a pointless argument with a learning-disabled kid.
