Heyhey, new guy to the forum here.

Just have a quick question.  What's the latest anyone has heard from Matt Groening or DXC (or anyone from that crew, for that matter) regarding the series right now?  Since the new DVD set has been announced and all, I'm curious as to whether it has brought up any new words regarding the state of the series or possibly it's future.  But as of right now I haven't really seen anything from the mouths of the creators.

Yeah, I know a chance of revival is extremely slim, I'd more just like to know if the creators still ever talk about the show..  Do they still acknowledge it having any hope, considering its AS ratings and dvd sales?

Sorry if this has been answered lately or anything.  Tried searching for recent interviews and stuff, but most of the latest that I could find were from like 2003 or maybe early 2004...  :/  So could anyone help me out here?  Thanks.  :D

Hi, and Welcome to PEEL. You use correct grammar and use the search function! I like you already. No, there really hasn't been any news. The DVD commentaries shed some light on what Matt and DXC think of the cancellation, but alas, not what FOX is going to do about it. Any news you'll usually get from  CGEF , but stuff here pops up all the time. (unfornatuely some are hoaxes) Please enjoy your stay here at a place full of nerds obcessing over a cancelled show, overwise known as PEEL. Hopefully some won't scare you off.

Thanks for the coherent post.  You wouldn't believe some of the crap we get around here.
(FYI: we always bump before we create new threads, but I think this one's valid since most of the other ones I see are old speculation.  This still might get closed quick since it's a narrow question that will be completely answered quickly.)

Nope, no word.  Last we heard, Fox and MG were both being stubborn about the timeslot and budget.  Fox has greenlighted a renewal of Futurama's [as] sister show Family Guy, as I'm sure you know, so it's possible they'll be waiting to see how that does.

Interesting fact: Futurama had better ratings on [as], but FG had much better DVD sales.  So...buy the DVDs?  And watch Family Guy.  Yes that show's moronic and shallow, but if it works out for Fox, they may consider Futurama as well.  And it's hilariously moronic and shallow.

I think they might want to do something soon since there are no more seasons to package on DVD and the milage on reruns is getting pretty high. Soon the cash flow will start decreasing.[as] "cancled" ATHF and Venture Bros. last year but this year there are new episodes this year. Perhaps Fox was looking for a replacement for the Simpsons or leverage against the ever increasing Simpsons cast $ demands. MG and MXC may have had other ideas.
