You know how there's always those E! True Hollywood Stories on stuff like Celebrity Children and Wheel of Fortune. Well, it got me thinking, 'What about Futurama?'

They even got E stories on other cancelled programs ....Married with...Children and a few others. Youre right...they should do one on Futurama...go behind the scenes...interviews with cast and crew behind the show, show the making of Futurama and a fireside chat or something from Matt Groening. Your totally right on...they should do that. I'd watch it.

I'd watch it too. I bet everyone on this site would. However, this is a pipe dream, as Futurama only ran for five seasons and obviously did not pique too much interest. (NOTE: It got cancelled.) Besides which, we basically know what went on behind the scenes. They got together, wrote, did their readings, and left for the day. E! True Hollywood stories expose the madness and mayhem behind the scenes... Something tells me a Futurama version would only be interesting to the handful of people on this forum.

Oh I know.....I thought the show only ran 4 seasons...theres only 4 DVDs out. I recall it ran from 1999-2003. It got cancelled because the folks at Fox all suck...thus I give them the middle finger salute...Piss off Fox executives.
I know thered never be a behind the scenes look E stories...hell you can just see that on their DVDs.Your right.....Im an artist and  draw comic strips and planning to go to art school so Im kind of intrested in what happens behind the scenes of an animated show. When I start my Art Classes at the community college....Futurama,South Park and The Simpsons are going to be my biggest insperations.

True, they only made four seasons, but it aired  over the course of five.

Kloudes, it got cancelled because FOX were dipshits who didn't promote the show or do anything, and gave it crappy timeslots. With all that crap, how could Futurama build a fan base?

You're right!!! I remember during football season on Fox here in Illinois on WYZZ Fox 43....Futurama was on at 6 pm and we rarely got to see it cuz the Football games would overlap it and Fox wouldnt make up for it....the least they couldve done is put it on a little later like after the game..or after the Simpsons...maybe they did elsewhere but here for a while barely got to see it...Fox never promoted it so I at the time thought it got cancelled so ...plus I worked alot of hours too so didnt have a chance to see it...I worked  3rd shift at the time so had to come in Sunday nights which was our Mondays. But enough about that....I just got really into last year when Adult Swim started airing it...and now I got all  four seasons Dvds so when I get back to working crappy jours I wont miss a thing....although its all reruns and Ive seen everyone of them atleast twice....some episodes more than others. The point is...Im done rambling.....I just go on like an old krumudgen dont I....the point is Fox didnt air it for what it really deservered nor promoted it.

Ack, me too. You raised my hopes and dashed them quite...wait, how does the rest go? Eh, you get my point  :D

But it's rather irrational to think this might happen, right? The Simpsons might get this treatment when their time comes, but I think I'm being fairly realistic to think that Futurama just wasn't big enough to get this. That depresses me.

Pity too....Fox just doesnt know a good show when it sees it....for exception of The Simpsons....Fox knows noy to axe the Simpsons cuz if they do that they wouldnt get any veiwers at all...besides car chase shows and stars without make up...which I thought was a stupid episode...if I wanna catch glimpses of the Stars without make up Ill just by the Star,Globe and EnQuire. BOOO...to the folks at Fox! I cant cuss them enough....hell,theres not enough obsceneties in the dictonary that Id like to slander at Fox. Sorry rambling on again...Im off to smoke my cigar and drink a few dozen beers....

Ah, the wonders of DVD. I never watched the show when it was on Fox because I could never find it. But with DVD, it's on when I want it on. In fact, it's on right now. I'm supposed to be watching it instead of typing this. What should I do? Watch? Type? Help!

Welcome to PEEL EileenK98. Enjoy your stay here!

Now with all of the greetings done, I suggest you do both. (Fortunately for me, my computer is right next to the television. So it depends on how your computer and T.V. are set up.)

And let's give FOX some credit. If it weren't for them, Futurama wouldn't exist, and we all wouldn't be here "talking" to each other. (And I wouldn't have anything to do in my free time.) Also, they did release the DVD's.

But just because FOX did whatever to make Futurama "alive", doesn't mean I support what they did to the show.

Oh yeah. AsaB, the line goes: "You raised my hopes and dashed them quite expertly sir! Bravo!"

One wonders if Futurama would have had a better life if they pitched it to CN first.

^It most likely would have. But then Cartoon Network would have to cough up the dough for actually making the episodes. And it's alot of money that, as far as I know, Cartoon Network couldn't afford.

EDIT: And that doesn't even count the money they'd have to spend to promote it.

Actually, they could afford it, but they'd have to drop some shows they already have, and that probably won't happen.

They founded clone wars which had similar CG graphics and even ended up having the longest strip of animation background ever in the history of cartoons. Those new transformers are almost all CGI.

Yeah, but those things were only five minutes long. Timing is a huge factor.

And if Futurama were on Cartoon Network all along, it would probally have bad times like Aqua Teen Hunger Force. It's not like it would have limelight/primetime slots like Samuari Jack had.

P'sha. I never got to see Samurai Jack. And when I did, it was the same episode I'd seen before. Sadistic scheduling bastards. Anywho, Futurama would have to be on late on Cartoon Network, 'cause it's primarily a kids' channel. Whereas, on Fox or TBS, it could be on earlier. (Though earlier isn't always better, as we know very well.)

E! stands for entertainment, I believe. I don't remember if it's a show or a channel, though. Or perhaps I'm thinking of A&E...
