Hello, this is a new trivia game I am putting together.

I have chosen ten of my favorite episodes. Tonight and tomorrow I am going to watch these episodes, and come up with one question from each one.

Rules:

The game will begin at February 16th at 630 pm, pst.

The second round will begin the following day, the 17th, at 630 pm pst, as well.

I will post five questions at once in each round, and you can respond to the questions IN ANY ORDER, and in as many replies as you would like  ( if I were you I would check if I know any right off the bat, quickly reply with the answers, then look up or check for the others).

The person with the first correct response to a question will receive 10 points, the second person will get 6 points, the third will get 2, and the fourth will get 1.

***There will also be a bonus question that can be from any one of the ten episodes and will be worth 15 points for the first person to answer it, and 10 for the second.  There will be no points for third or fourth place. This bonus question will be asked 30 minutes after the original posting of questions (7 pm pst, on the 16th).

Any posts that have been edited will be disqualified from receiving points, so make sure you have checked everything before you send it in.

I am posting several questions at once for my convenience, and to make the game more interesting. Since you can choose which ones to answer first, hopefully we can get more even results and scores.

*Spelling will only be important for pronouns and the like from the world of futurama.

MYSTERY PRIZE:

There will be a prize. I will inform the winner at the time, but suffice to say it is the download of an unavailable product from one of the contributors to the show. The total content is over one hour. I hope the winner will like it.

The ten episodes (in no particular order):

Anthology of interest 2
big piece of garbage
I, roommate
space pilot 3000
the series has landed
The farnsworth parabox
parasites lost
luck of the fryrish
Insane in the mainframe
A Fishful of dollars

Remember, one question from each episode, and YOU CAN REPLY IN ANY ORDER YOU CHOOSE!

Good luck and see you tomorrow at 6 pm pst (hopefully) to answer questions.

i think the posting 10 q's at once, for your convenience, is pretty stupid. if anything you should post one q, wait a while then post another one. Also your idea is nothing original. i dont think this will last.

what does that mean? I am going to post the questions, and whoever wants to play/win the prize can play.

It is fairly simple, but maybe it "wont last".

But I might change the rules, if everyone really thinks it makes a difference.

Not just for you though, you are kind of rude, especially since I am trying to do this for everyone's enjoyment.

it looks good but i don't think you should do all 10 questions at once

Okay, im "rude", but there are already alot of Futurama trivia games on this board, and this one doesn't seem very original or different to any of the others. Also maybe telling us a bit more about the prize may make the comp more appealing.

Welcome to Peel, and have a nice day!

Haha, okay, i will tell a bit more.

The prize is intentionally a mystery. Read into that what you will, but I will only reveal the prize to the winner, and on the condition that he or she not reveal it to the others until a specified point in time (late march).

I truly hope the winner enjoys the prize. i do, very much, and am passing it on, in my mind, as a true "prize".

As I said before, it is OVER AN HOUR of creative content from a contributor to the show. It is also virtually unavailable (quite rare at least). It will also be given to the winner via email or the web.

It is not pornography . . . sorry.

On another note, I will seriously take into consideration peoples opinions on whether to change the question format.

The only other option I am considering is doing the game over two days, with five questions each day, and an extra bonus question worth 15 points on the second day.

Thoughts? Questions? Qualms?

Hmm, interesting. I don't know if I like the 7:30, mainly because I'm on the east coast, so that makes it 10:30 for me, which is when I'm usually kicked off by my brother since my laptop crashed. That was too much info, but oh well. Since the prize is so nice, you probably shouldn't have told us the episodes. You should do one episode question a day, like everyone else has stated. What is the question score anyayways? After all, one person may get some right, not all, but the next poster may answer them all right, but posts second. You need to be more clear. Welcome to Peel.

PS- Don't double posts. It peeves people off. Just use the edit button below your post.

Okay, I am delaying the competition until tomorrow.

The NEW time will be 630 pst, on February 16th.

I am sincerely sorry to do this, but I thought this way I could maybe get a few more people's opinion on the format and also possibly allow more people on the east coast to play.

I am adding the bonus question anyway.

So can we answer the questions at once or what? How long is this supposed to last anyway? (To be honest, it doesn't seem all that different from my 'Futurama Trivia Champion' games.)

eyedol:

It is your choice.

you can answer one at a time, or you can answer all the quesiton in one reply if you choose, but taking the time to answer all of them would hinder your chances of answering each one before someone else does.

Check above for my reccommendations on how I would play.

As far as the differences between our tourneys, I think they are quite clear. And if not, are you gonna sue me for copyright infringement?

The differences:

well, there's a prize, besides holding your own tournament.

And I think it should really be the more the merrier. people have a very negative attitude. I came on this site recently, and saw all the great trivia and fun that was being had, and thought I could do the same.

I guess the question asking wont be that different, but as I said before, i am posting multiple questions at once, which is pretty different. The ability to choose which to answer first and what to do makes the game alot more interesting in my opinion.

I am tired of defending the game. If you wanna play, please do, the more the merrier. If you win you'll get a real prize, which i think is cool.

If you have a preference between the two choices please vote for it.

Option A:
all ten questions at once, with a bonus question following thirty minutes afterward (7 pm pst)

Option B:
two rounds of five questions, seperated by 24 hours, with a bonus question 30 minutes after the first round (7 pm pst).

Please, vote, so I can make the decision based on what you guys would prefer!

!!THE CONTEST IS NOW BEGINNING!!
-------------------------------------

Read the rules and guidelines above for more information.
-------------------------------------

Announcements: Don't forget, there is a bonus question worth extra points that will be posted in thirty minutes, at 7 pm pst.

**Make sure you include the question number in your replies.

Good Luck to all.

------------------------------------

ROUND ONE:

Questions:

#1. (Space Pilot 3000)
When Fry realizes it is the year 3000, he quotes a number for how long he's been frozen. How many years off is he?

#2. (Episode 2: The Series Has Landed)
According to the moon farmer, how cold does the moon get? (Units of measure count!)

#3. (I, Roommate)
What is Amy's house-warming gift to Fry and Bender?

#4. (A Fishful of Dollars)
When the gang goes out for pizza, how much money does fry ask that they keep the tab under? And how much does he ultimately end up paying for anchovies at the auction?     (this question is 2 parts; no points for partial correctness)

#5. (A Big Piece of Garbage)
Describe how the smell-o-scope works, based on Professor Farnsworth's presentation at the Academy of Inventor's Annual Symposium.     (Hint: Quote the profesor, don't describe the picture)

(A Big Piece of Garbage)

During the scene in which Fry teaches the mayor how to "make" garbage, there is a very noticable visual error/inconsistency. What is it?

well it doesn't look like he is playing anyway.

I think it is fair, considering he was very derogatory toward my efforts, calling it stupid and saying it won't last.

Yet he is the first one to respond to a question?

Either way, I am not taking back the point deduction.

Feel free to play, Eyedol, as several points are still up for the taking!

And Moose, although he may not say which one is colder, simply knowing the difference between the two units of measurement would have helped.

I think that is a fairly common thing to know, and was kind of part of the question, as I wanted you to figure it out/know it. Sorry if you think there was confusion, but I did have the hint say specifically to name the unit (singular) of measurement.

I can't believe more people aren't playing.

Come on people, there are several more points to be had.

1.) 997,000 years

2.)-452.4 degress Farenheit (It first drops down -173F. It then drops down -173C. [-173C=-452.4F]. Since it is impossible for the temperature to drop to -173F, rise up, then drop down again to -173C, I added -173F and -452.4F. So when you add those numbers together, you get -452.4 degrees Farenheit. (The farmer said the first one, then the other. So it drops -173F, then you have to add that to the next temperature drop, which is -173C.)

3.)A cake.

4.)$50 million, then $50 million

5.)"The odor travels past this coffee stain here, around the olive pit and into this cigar burn."

BONUS.)Pencil on his desk is originally green and then turns yellow.

hahaha . . . Ok, duely noted.

I tried to pick ones that were kinda fun. Like Amy's gift is only on screen for like 2 frames, the pencil thing, the fact that both were the same number. Plus calling the professors speech a technical description is just funny.

Its MY competition....

so I think I can run it however I choose.

I am sorry you think it is unfair, but I think it was unfair of you to judge my competition without trying it. And also I think it was unfair of you to be so negative toward it. It was a little sad to think I was willing to watch 220 minutes of episodes I have seen twenty times in order to make a trivia game, in addition to the time I spent uploading the files so the winner could download them, only to reload my topic and see that it was called stupid, and basically I was discouraged from moving forward.

Anf finally, I really dont think its that big a deal, because were you to answer the other questions correctly now (unlike some of the ones already posted), you could STILL be in 1st place going into round 2.

So get to it!
