Oh and also when I was in Florida I saw a FedEx van and I had to stare at it for ages because before that I didn't know where PlanEx was from. I was like "Oh my God, it's the Fry and Leela colours!"
I love it when I hear people say Futurama-related stuff. I swear my friend must be a secret fan because the other day she randomly said "insane in the membrane" and she keeps saying stuff that could be Futurama quotes. Oh, and a while ago our Physics teacher let us watch Futurama. It was pretty funny 'cause he said his son recommended it and it was AWitM. That kinda reminded me of Futurama a bit...
And OH MY GOD there is a girl in my school called Amy Wong! I heard someone say her name the other day and I nearly died. In fact, I heard two people say it in two days and I've never heard it before.
Everything reminds me of Futurama! Also this song by Oasis:
Calling on the stars to fall And catch the silver sunlight in your hands Come for me and set me free Lift me up and take me where I stand
She believes in everything And everyone and you and yours and mine I've waited for a thousand years For you to come and blow me out my mind
Hey, Lyla The stars are about to fall So what d'you say, Lyla The world around us makes me feel so small, Lyla If you can't hear me call then I can say, Lyla Heaven'll help you catch me if I fall
She's the queen of all I've seen And every song and city far and near Heaven help me Madmoiselle She rings the bell for all the world to hear
Hey, Lyla The stars are about to fall So what d'you say, Lyla The world around us makes me feel so small,Lyla If you can't hear me call then I can say,Lyla Heaven'll help you catch me if I fall...
Hey, Lyla The stars are about to fall So what d'you say, Lyla The world around us makes me feel so small,Lyla If you can't hear me call then I can say, Lyla Heaven'll help you catch me when I fall...
Hey... Lyla Hey... Lyla Hey... Lyla Hey... Lyla

There's a big electronics store named "Fry's" that one of my roommates likes to shop at. I live in Houston, and there are two nearish me: one with a "oil well gusher" theme, and one near NASA with a, well, NASA theme. (I'm jonesing to go to the NASA one but it's like an hour away from us, while the oil-well one is only twenty minutes away, and my roommate usually chooses expediancy (and saving on gasoline) over cool decor. ) So we go there recently, and there's this big gusher-shaped sign says "FRY'S", and I can just see Fry being hurled into the air by spurting oil and screaming "Help, Leela!" And of course the store's name is plastered everywhere inside, and every time I see it I keep picturing Fry in a lot of incongruous situations and laughing to myself. I really want to paint a T-shirt with a big portrait of Fry and wear it there, and see if anyone gets it. Maybe him doing the two-handed pointing thing, like in his "Emperor of Trisol" portrait....

In the book The Woad to Wuin, by Peter David, there is a character named "That Guy." Futurstock aired March 31, 2001. Woad was released August 1, 2002. 4 Month window there. Draw your own conclusions.

So I saw this poem today, that my friend read in English class. She is a Futurama fan, but she hadn't seen 4th season (which I then loaned her just afterwards), so she didn't pick it because of Seymour.
Nonetheless, read and weep:
A Dog Sits Waiting By Kathy Flood
A dog sits waiting in the cold autumn sun, Too faithful to leave, too frightened to run. He's been here for days now with nothing to do But sit by the road, waiting for you.
He can't understand why you left him that day He thought you and he were stopping to play. He's sure you'll come back, and that's why he stays How long will he suffer: How many more days?
His legs have grown weak, his throat's parched and dry He's sick now from hunger and falls with a sigh. He lays down his head and closes his eyes I wish you could see how a waiting dog dies.
*bawls* OMG... *cries* You know, I have a dog that I HATE. But thanks to this, I just changed my heart. Thank you for posting this. *continues crying* (Oh, Jake...)

I listened to a song by Hoobastank... part of the lyrics was this:
"It's a pain that sleeps inside, it sleeps with just one eye".
From that point that reminded me of Leela, and the other part reminded me of her relationship with Fry. It kinda made me picture the scene in "The Why Of Fry" when Leela told Fry she had a date with Chazz (for some odd reason) I just thought about it the first time I heard it.
You'll like the song.
