I know Matt Groening wouldn't completely use the Simpsons in order to bring Futurama back, but how about indirectly. How is this for an idea: everytime the Simpsons are watching TV it should be Futurama and with the occasional remark?

Futurama is referenced constantly on The Simpsons already. Hell, Bender's appeared on there twice, Fry once in a couch gag, and Season 15's finale episode even included a teenager attempting to commit suicide, screaming "Why did they have to cancel Futurama?!" Not to mention Matt Groening's guest starred as himself being the creator of Futurama, we've seen Futurama shirts & Bender dolls at sci-fi conventions, and there have been several more Futurama references on the show already. Plus, there's an upcoming Simpsons episode called Future Drama.

It's hardly a desperate attempt, it's just an ignorant suggestion - the show gets referenced all the time on The Simpsons, and by the looks of things, the references aren't going to stop any time soon.
