I'd place it at about 1 1/2 BC (Before Cancelling).

Unfortunately Fox did keep insisting on killing it, and succeeded... *sigh*.

Why oh cruel fate?  Fox should have some serious changes to their board of executives.  Why the hell was it cancelled??

If I repeat what somebody else says I'm sorry, but I don't have time to read every post as I'm at work and could be discovered any minute! I don't think Futurama coudl ever replace The Simpsons because of its subject matter. It simply doesn't have as wide an appeal. It's difficult for us to understand peopel not liking Futurama, but the fact is taht a lot of people are put off by the sci-fi setting, and for many people it's just too clever. I know the Simpsons was clever (WAS!)as well, but the fact that it was about a family and that by far and away the funniest character was a stupid guy made it a lot easier for people to accept. Just thinking about how clever Futurama is makes me drop my jaw in wonder at how it ever got made! To be honest, I'm surprised it lasted four seasons. But thank God it did!
